This was our second time at this property and we were again amazed. If you want somewhere to go and relax without having to leave the property this is the place. We stayed for 3 nights and never ledt!

My husband and I visited for a medical conference. The mountain location is perfect for quick access to hiking, with a variety of trails—long, short, easy, more difficult. Amazing saguaros and desert landscape.
Our room had lovely details, a large bathroom with rain shower and separate oversized tub. The mini fridge was the kind that is weighted with a sensor. But I was following a special diet for health reasons, and called ahead. So when I arrived, they had emptied the fridge so I could use it. That was very nice.
There was a Krups machine in the room so I could have herbal tea, but it never seemed to get the water past lukewarm.
Our room had a nice Mountain View balcony with a table and chairs where we could see both the pools (the fire sconces were a lovely touch) and the sunset.
The one downside was being above the restaurant, which is a problem unless you are up before 7. Even on floor 3, I was awakened by the sounds of people chatting over breakfast and the outside tables.
The downside is food—few options and very gourmet food. Th snack bar offered smoothies for a comparatively reasonable 8$ per, but it was always closed by noon. We are room service twice, but more options for snacks would be nice. There is a small shopping plaza with a couple of options, including a good Italian place, Vero, that is about a ten minute drive , and a grocery store/supercenter that sells everything from food to clothing, about 15 minutes away.
The golf club has a burger place that is excellent—but don’t expect casual here, either. They may serve burgers (and they are good) but the ambience suggests fine dining. I suggest finding an outdoor table—they have heating elements and a fireplace.
Th fitness room has a good selection of equipment and weight machines, and I enjoyed a great yoga class one morning—the instructor gave options to make it work for a variety of levels and gave good instructions on technique to avoid injury.
The pool was nice, as well as the water slide.
This is a beautifully decorated resort, and we enjoyed our room. If you are looking for a secluded resort and your taste in food runs to the gourmet, this is a great choice.

We returned to this resort for a family celebration and could not be more pleased with how lovely this place is on all fronts. The setting is so serene and quiet, as it is tucked in up high into the Tortalita Mountains just northwest of Tucson, AZ. This place is an easy, easy drive down I-10 from the Phoenix area too and a nice place to get away from the crowds of the big city. Not quite sure what the elevation is at this place, but it is definitely cooler than the lower elevations of Tucson/Phoenix/Scottsdale. We think the place still looks great, but apparently some or all of the resort is being closed next summer for a few months for remodeling. The spa is fantastic, there is a great work out gym/facility, the pools are saltwater and very nice, with a fun water slide and the hiking trails around the resort are plentiful, interesting and offer easy to moderate level choices. The golf course is spectacular (but difficult). Our only complaint is that the resort fee is $50 and there is a 20% service charge automatically added to just about everything. The place was not busy and this may be a factor.

Room Tip: All rooms are pretty good. We've stayed a couple of times.

Look, we aren’t “Ritz” kind of people, but the staff at Dove Mountain welcomes everyone - even if you just want to use the free trail (Kona Kahuna) or road (Specialized Allez) bikes every day between runs and visits to the pool. The trail network out the door is tremendous and the maps are dead on accurate. Yes, the nightly resort fee of $50 is a bit much but the first week of December rate was only $239/night and our Marriott status produced an upgrade. This is an extremely mellow resort. If you love the outdoors and are even moderately active, add this to your bucket list. Plenty of good restaurants within 10 miles and there’s a Fry’s down the road, so you can stock the fridge.

Love this hotel. The service is always spot on. The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. The setting is beautiful and relaxing. The spa never disappoints. Delicious food. Hiking trails are easily accessible from the property.
