We visit Yali. a lot and always have a meal or two in the lovely Cardakli restaurant beside the old harbour. In the evening it is a bustling area and fun for people watching as well as eating. We are always greeted very warmly and no matter how busy are looked after all evening. Mehmet and his team of wonderful waiters and chefs know how to do it!
The food is always good. My favourites are any of the fish choices or the lamb chops and the meatballs are excellent. Cardakli's red house wine is delicious too. Mehmet has chosen this from a private vineyard(I think!)and it is well worth a glass or two. He has a good choice from across the range of Turkish wines.
Do book as this restaurant is very popular. The nice thing is the Turks are a large percentage of its custom. It's not just catering for the foreign tourist.

This has got to be the best resaurant in town. Mehemet the manager looked after us so well. The fish was cooked to perfection and between us (10) we tried pretty much every variety in the house. The Kalamari was to die for. We found the service to be excellent, prompt and attentive. The price including wine was a fraction of what would be paid in the UK. A lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting.

We visited this retaurant several times during our stay, each time the food was excellent the staff very friendy and nothing is too much trouble for them. It is situated on the harbour and it's probably one of if not the best place to eat in Yalikavak, if you're visiting you simply must go to this restaurant! If you want a seat on the harbour, probably best to reserve.

We first visited the No 1 in Yalikavak restaurants called Sofi's bistro. Although it is about 20:00 it was totally empty so we returned back. When I will eat fish I care how much full the place for freshness. On the way back to parking we saw the restaurant Cardakli, which was almost full. The Food was perfect and the owner/manager was also friendly and a real all around service man to assure customer pleasure. And your pleasure will be doubled if you can make reservation to find a table near sea at the sunset.

I have been going to Cardakli restaurant for years. It was previously called Cumbali but has now moved next door and is operating under a new name. It is located directly on the waterfront at the old harbour in Yalikavak - a beautiful place to sit and enjoy a meal. The owner Mehmed speaks good English, some of the waiters are quite proficient too.
It is a fish restaurant, but there are also meat dishes on the menu. Normally there is an excellent variety of meze - the grilled octopus leg is highly recommended, as are the prawns and calamari rings. One excellent dessert is the fig with cream - but do avoid the cappucino - it's made with powder. Turkish coffee is ok.
The wine list is fine, they also serve beer and raki.
In summer, the restaurant is generally very busy, so do not go without a reservation. Despite my reservation last time, the service was poor. The starters came quickly, but our main course never appeared and after waiting for one hour we cancelled it and left. The owner apologised profusely. That night they had a lot of Turkish guests - we felt they were given priority over foreigners and would encourage the owner to change this policy.
