“Enjoyable experience in a stunning villa - like "home from home"”
Reviewed 27 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We travelled as a family of 7 - 2 over 60's, 2 adults and 3 teenagers.
The villa is located about 500m up quite a steep hill, opposite scrubland. The complex has only recently been completed and many of the surrounding villas are still unsold, so although the villa could be quite overlooked, at the moment it isn't, and in a couple of years once the shrubs and trees have grown it should still be quite private.
First impressions of the villa were clean, spacious, well laid out and comfortable. The beds were made up and there appeared to be lots of spare bedding in the wardrobes. There were ample towels in each room, plus on top of the washing machine.
The pool is 1.4m deep and one end starts to go in the shade around 3:30pm, with the whole pool in shade by 5:30pm - although this certainly didn't stop us using it after this time. The sunbeds were extremely comfortable and the pool area was hosed down by the maintenance man about 4 times a week. The kids used to climb over the railings (as they saw the maintenance man doing this) and go in the communal pools as they were empty for the whole fortnight we were there, so they could have lilo races!
The fridge/freezer is a wonderful size and there was ample room for food and drink! We did not use the dining room table once, as all meals were eaten on the balcony as there are two patio tables with 10 chairs in total. Sometimes we were a bit bombarded with wasps and had to light mosquito killer rings to try and send them away.
At the end of the first week, the owner sent me a message via trip advisor asking if everything was ok. I commented that a toaster would be of great benefit (so we didn't have to use the grill in the oven), more cutlery and more glasses and at 4pm Monday a man knocked on the door and gave us a goody box containing all these items!
Feeding ourselves - on arrival, my husband and I went on a hunt for CES supermarket so that we could buy some provisions. We knew that we hadn't passed it on the way from the airport, so walked down the hill and turned left. After about another 15 minutes, we found the supermarket, did a shop and they delivered it to the villa. Whilst we were paying, 2 other English people came into the shop and we asked them where the beach and bars/restaurants were, as they said they have lived there for 12 years. They paid before us, went outside and waited for us to come out, offered us a 10 minute guided tour of the area and to take us back to the villa! This was of a HUGE benefit as they pointed out the other supermarkets, best doctors, best pharmacy, recommended 5 restaurants and saved us the uphill walk! This was probably the most helpful 10 minutes of the holiday, and I have suggested to the owner that a small local info pack would be helpful at the villa, to pass on this information. The owner has been very helpful right from our initial enquiry, so I am sure this will happen.
Eating out - our dearest meal was 700 TL, and our cheapest was 400 TL which was for 3 courses for 7 people and drinks. This was followed by a taxi ride back up the hill for 15TL, or 20TL if we squeezed 7 of us into a 6 seater taxi.
Money - apart from the supermarkets and restaurants EVERYONE else wants pound sterling. There is a market on a Monday in the big car park at the top of the strip with about 100 stalls, so no need to pay to go to Fethiye market on a Tuesday, as it is all the same stall holders.
Transport - we did not hire a car for the whole time we were there. The boys rented quad bikes for one day from 9am - 7pm for £22.50 each and also got a 2 hour massage and Turkish bath thrown in and were transported back to the villa. We used this opportunity to get the water we would need for the whole two weeks back to the villa. The dolmus (minibus) runs every 3-4 minutes in either direction to Olu Deniz and Fethiye and fares from Ovacik are roughly 3.50 TL (about £1) per person and you can stop the bus at any point you want.
Overall - A most enjoyable, relaxing holiday, where you are close enough "to the action", but far enough away to be in a peaceful environment. The wifi is slow if everyone is connected to it at the same time, but we managed for the two weeks with 6 things connected. If you do choose to rent this villa, I do not think you will be disappointed, and anything that you are not happy with, in my opinion, only needs to be raised with the owner and will be sorted very very quickly.

“A holiday to remember”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This was the first time we booked a holiday this way (booking the villa and flights separately) and from the first email to the owners, I felt in safe hands. We didn't have a car and the owners booked the transfers for us and we were picked up without any problems from the airport by a very friendly man and taken to the villa in a clean comfortable car (we figured during the holiday that this service didn't cost any more than trusting a taxi). We arrived at the villa and was very pleasantly surprised indeed. Decked in cool marble on 3 floors there was plenty of room for me and my partner and our 4 teenagers. The pool was fantastic and we were looked after while we were there by a very welcoming man who spoke perfect English. He was easy to contact, fixed any minor issues we had (nothing that spoilt the holiday) and even got a tour rep to visit us to arrange some days out, The villa was within walking distance to the nearest shops and restaurants and only a 5 minute taxi ride (around 3.5 turkish lire) to Hisaronu or Olu Deniz if you couldn't face the walk. You could buzz for a taxi from a taxi point a minutes walk away. All in all we had a brilliant family holiday from this wonderful villa used as a base.
