“Hotel Perdikia beach”
Reviewed 31 October 2011

Just wanted to say that we had a fantastic holiday in the Hotel Perdikia, and would recommend this great value Hotel to anyone. We are a family of four and were given a family room, it was kept spotlessly clean and we were given fresh towels daily.
The room was very peaceful and had a small balcony overlooking the gardens.
We stayed half board and found both the food and servce excellent, with the staff being very polite.
The choice was very good for both breakfast and evening meal, and in fact we only ate elsewhere once as we found it such good value.
Our intention had been to eat out several times but we found ourselves happier to enjoy the meal at the hotel.

The resort itself was fantastic, we really thought it one of the best places we have visited, although I will say that it was end of season when we visited, it might be a lot different in the height of summer months.

All in all a great holiday and we will certainly try to get back one day.

Room Tip: go for a first floor room if you can as a little more private,

Unfortunatly this otherwise perfect holiday was spoilt by one famiy with a small boy, this child had a voice like a fog horn which spoilt the otherwise perfectly peacefull pool area, he also had a grandad who was the rudest man I have encountered deliberatley splashing people who were reading or resting around the pool. I am not a child hater but as the majority of guests are over 50 I really think this hotel would not lose any custom by becoming couples only. Once again I can not praise the staff highly enough the food and service were as always extremely good but I will not be going back again just because this one child and his grandad managed to spoil our holiday.

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Perdikia -

The Good Bits
Excellent location, lovely mountain backdrop, very close to shops, bars, beach etc but quiet at night
Good sized clean pool, plenty of sunbeds, plenty of shade when youve had enough sun
Pretty gardens
Friendly staff
Clean and tidy
Food fresh and good quality, lovely salad buffet at night although main course choice was very limited - 2 choices with 1 usually being chicken so we ate out several nights (but that was because we wanted to and not because there was anything wrong with the food)
The rooms in the new block are very nice, not large but clean and comfortable

The Not so Good Bits
The rooms in the 2 older blocks of the hotel are in serious need of a refurb - we were given a room directly above reception overlooking the pool - very small, tiny bathroom and balcony too small for 2 people to sit on at the same time! The antiquated air conditioning rattled very loudly on anything but the lowest setting, not a lot of use when temps were well up in the 30s and the noise from the main aircon system underneath our room made the whole floor, windows and doors vibrate so after a particularly sleepless night we asked to be moved.
We were given a room in the block at the back of the pool, much larger and cooler with quiet air con that worked (hooray!) however, there was mould on the bathroom ceiling, rotting wood on the balcony, the light switch over one of the beds was hanging off the wall, 2 very old chairs on the balcony with loose bolts which needed replacing, rusty fitiings in the bathroom and the bedroom furniture had seen better days. Having said that, it was clean and the beds were comfy.
The indoor pool, sauna, gym area (underground at the back of the pool) is in a poor state, smells damp and mildewy, rotting wood round toilet door frames and I wouldnt set foot in the pool if you paid me!

Gripes aside we had a great holiday in Olu Deniz, but would only consider staying at the Perdikia again in one of the rooms in the new block.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new block!

Just returned after a 14 night stay at the Perdikia beach hotel and must say it exceeded my expectations as I was slightly concerned about some adverse reviews I had read. The Perdikia is a delightful small and freindly hotel set in a perfect location for all ammenities. Our room had a mountain view and our balcony was surrounded by the most beautiful fragrant flowers.I found the staff very pleasant and helpful and they went out of their way to make our stay there a happy one. One of the main plus points for the hotel is it's location as it is very peaceful and we had no problems with any noise at night unlike some of the other hotels our friends and family were staying at.
All in all a fantastic holiday, our 1st time in Turkey and olu deniz, but it won't be our last, can't wait to return hopefully next year.
