Relaxed atmosphere, comfortable accommodation with quaint, understated decor. Friendly service with a personal touch - we were offered a complimentary glass of wine and a chat by the owner. Beautiful country surroundings with a quirky herb garden and peacocks roaming the grounds. Great country retreat without any pretensions.

Dear Sally F
Thank you for your wonderful review of everything we wish to offer our guests - wine, friendliness, relaxing times, tranquillity (except for the noisy birds) at night and having the bright lights and city activies a mere 12 km away. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay.
Sincerely
Carol

Lovely family run farm. Warm and inviting atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Crisp clean linen and big comfortable beds. Good amenities and clean bathrooms. Fresh farm bread along with delicious breakfast. There is a lot to do in the area and the views are beautiful.

What a beautiful place to stay! The farm and gardens are beautifully maintained and if it hadn't been for the rain we would have done a lot of walking. We had a lovely cottage in the garden which was essentially a self-catering unit but breakfast and dinner are available in the guesthouse dining room - obviously pre-booking is required. We found the flexibility was exactly what we needed and had several dinners which were of a very high standard. All the staff are friendly and courteous. We plan to return when the rain stops!!! The only negative aspect is that cellphone reception is almost non-existent. This is obviously a major drawback for them and not a problem they can easily rectify. They do however offer free Wi-Fi as an alternative and a landline in the room.

Dear Hobnob
Thank you for your wonderful review! What you mentioned is exactly what we would like our guests to enjoy - home-cooked dinners, breakfasts with freshly baked bread from our kitchen and of course our friendly staff who really enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I agree that the poor cellphone reception is rather frustrating, but even after investigating several options, the situation for the moment remains unresolved.
All the best and we really appreciate your taking the time to write your review.
Sincerely
Carol

We spent two nights at Knorhoek at the end of May, looking for relax after busy days in Capetown (and we found it).
Despite the cold and the rain, the stay was very pleasant. Bedrooms (we were staying in a patio bedroom) make you feel at home and offer a cosy under floor heating.
We had a great dinner at the guesthouse (steak), with a wide selection of wines.
The vineyard is perfect for sunset walks and landscapes - not to mention wines. It is definitely worth trying a wine tasting with a cheese platter.
The farm is nicely located, 10 mins by car from Stellenbosch and 30 mins from Franschhoek.
Unfortunately there was a wedding and we could not stay any longer!

Good afternoon Stella
Thank you so much for taking the time to write your most complimentary review and the fact that you wanted to stay longer is a great bonus for us. I'm glad you enjoyed the good things of our Cape winter - red wine, good food and a roaring fire. Most guests compliment our kitchen staff on the excellent quality of our steaks and I shall convey yours to them.
Sharing our beautiful countryside is always a pleasure.
Thank you again and best wishes
Carol

The location is great, as are the wines! It is very charming and a relaxing atmosphere. We really enjoyed the room's decor and the views were spectacular. The staff was very nice and the wine tasting was very enjoyable. We had to leave early the bent morning so did not have the breakfast.

Good morning Katie
Thank you for your kind review. I have conveyed your compliments to the wine tasting section and they are beaming. My son started as a learner wine maker last year. Stellenbosch has had the most spectacular crop in about 30 years, so you'll have to visit us again in about 4 years to sample the reds!!
I'm pleased you enjoyed the guesthouse and what we offer - we are blessed to be located in such a beautiful part of the country.
Thank you again and we hope the rest of 2014 will be as good as your holiday.
Sincerely
Carol
