My wife and I had the best experience in Oudtshoorn at the Highgate Ostrich show farm, which came with the reputation as being the oldest ostrich show farm in the world. We had initially gone the Safari, but the trip had was just about to start, and they said we will have to wait another hour. At Highgate, we also arrived just as a tour was commencing, but instead of the wait, the staff were very gracious and allowed us to go even without paying yet. It made our day as the delay would have wrecked out plans for the rest of the day. The tour done by Mellissa was excellent. She was an enthusiastic guide and spend time explaining all of the facets of the farm. We god to feed the magnificent birds and got wonderful pictures with them. The Ostrich riding was spectacular, and such an adrenaline rush. Only for the brave though as it could be very frightening and dangerous. The staff though made pains to keep us as safe as possible. The shop was reasonable and we got all we needed. It is great that the farm is heading towards its former glory after the devastation the suffered in the near past. Good luck with the venture. Highly recommended to all.
