A lovely meal here - my steak was cooked to perfection and my wife's lamb was literally falling off the bone. We enjoyed a very nice bottle of Jordan Syrah too from their extensive wine list.

Despite it being chilly we elected to eat lunch outside and were served by a charming chap. The food was delivered in a reasonable time frame- we shared a halloumi salad to start, a decent sized portion - then had the hake tempura which my husband declared excellent and I had the lemon chicken - also delicious. Still feeling relaxed, wanting to finish the meal off but neither of us being sweet-toothed we ask our waiter if the kitchen could make a cheese board for us - no trouble at all and it was beautifully displayed and yummy ... all washed down with a cheeky white, we found the final bill extremely reasonable and excellent value for money.... The setting indoors with the actual turbine, repainted and looking wonderful adds to the quirkiness of the place. Well done to all.

We arrived late for dessert, with the tables at the front of house closing down at the end of the business day. We sat in the reception lounge area of the hotel, where we received prompt attention and service, and enjoyed a well made pannacotta and crème brulee. A quaint and unusual environment, and well trained professional staff on the floor and in the kitchen made for a very pleasant late treat.

Great setting, with good coffee. Comfortable, warm environment that gives a feeling of holiday. Beautiful décor and affordable selection of eats. Would have love to try the Butternut Cheesecake though!

I had a fantastic experience at The Island Cafe, our waitress Vivian was excellent and very attentive.
The atmosphere was superb, the ambiance created by the old turbine machinery still on the restaurant floor is one of nostalgia and wonder.
The deco is truly fabulous, little details and attention paid to the chairs all being different is an example of the effort that has gone in to the look and feel of this restaurant.
The food was outstanding and fresh. Had a prawn starter that was on point and had so much flavor, followed by a slow roasted lamb shank in the truest of forms and tradition.
Their plates are presented in a professional way and the flavor is so well balanced in everything.

This restaurant is tops well done.

Thank Superbazzz
