We had the pleasure of staying with Nicole and Georgio for the first part of our journey on the Garden Route and as part of our honeymoon. This place is so lovely I wanted to live there for ever. Very tastefully done, great location and the hosts were lovely. Breakfast was amazing and the attention to detail in this Guest House is amazing. We are very fussy travellers and really could not find fault. Nicole - if you read this we accidentally stole the adaptor - so sorry!! It's attached to my phone charger still. Thanks again to both of you for a lovely stay and such lovely hospitality. You deserve to be the number one place in Knysna - good luck to both of you (and Max of course) and we hope to see you again soon! Thank you also for the kind gift voucher for our honeymoon - so kind!

Room tip: The honeymoon suite was lovely but we 'peeked' into the others and all of them absolutely lovely.

As regular visitors to South Africa and the Garden Route we know Cambalala since the very early days when it opened in 2007. Over the years we stayed there a number of times. Of course we were very curious how the successors are doing and what they changed. We were more than impressed! The site where Cambalala is situated is probably one of the most beautiful in Knysna if not in the country and the house itself was a gem. Giorgio and Nicole made some changes and upgrades to the house and to the rooms. Topping this will be a real challenge to others. The rooms are not only very modern and tasteful arranged in a African style but are also very well equipped with Nespresso coffee machine, WLAN, IPod docking station, free mini bar etc. The garden now has a Lounge that looks gorgeous and allows you to enjoy the stunning views in a very relaxed surrounding. But best of all are of course Nicole and Giorgio. Not only they offer an excellent breakfast (what is very important to us) but they also are making everything to make you feel at home, take care about you, help out with whatever you need and make you’re stay a real vacation. Thank you both for having us as your guests!! (of course to the 3 of you – I don’t want to upset Max by ignoring him  ). We’re looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Currently staying in the hotel as we are writing this review. Simply put this is a slice of heaven. The location is fantastic with far reaching views over the lagoon. The hotel grounds and communal areas are immaculate and the rooms large and spacious with simply everything one could ask for and more. Made to feel very special by the owners who take care of all your needs.

Nothing quite like having a glass of wine with your legs dipped in the infinity pool looking out to sea. Simply cannot fault this place in any way. If you are coming to Knysna put this Hotel at the top of your list.......you won't be disappointed!

Cambalala is a modern guest house run by Nicole and Georgio. The rooms have every luxury and the view over the bay is to die for.
The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and we were offered drinks by the pool, fabulous breakfasts and even a bbq one night and then there's Max!
I would unhesitatingly recommend Cambalala to anyone.

Nicole and George, the new owners of the guest house, totally refurbished and then reopened it beginning of November 2010. It turned out just perfect! The great view over the complete lagoon of Knysna stayed the same of course but what makes you relax from the first minute after arrival is the new beautiful garden, pool and outdoor lounge. Nicole and George try to make you feel at home in their guest house - they serve a delicious breakfast and have great tips on what to do in the area and where to go for dinner in Knysna. Wireless LAN and I-Pod stations in every room as well as international TV programs underline the 5-star accomodation standard.
We will definately come back and recommend this place to everyone planning a trip to Knysna!
