We stayed here for 5 nights in February & although the weather was disappointing we really enjoyed our stay & will go back. The setting on the island is perfect for a relaxing stay & if you enjoy, walking, cycling, running or water sports then this would be a perfect base. The views of The Heads are breathtaking & you can either walk or drive here. There is a lovely cafe there too.
The accommodation is luxurious - modern & very comfortable. We had booked a deluxe lagoon facing suite but were lucky enough to be upgraded to The Penthouse, which was truly wonderful. We had a chance to see most of the other rooms & they all look lovely although some are smaller with different views.
There is a small swimming pool with sun-beds at the rear of the property & a beauty salon upstairs. They can arrange massages during your stay which we took advantage off. They were truly magical!
While we were there our car was washed every morning so we would go out to a clean car each day. Such a lovely little extra.
They have an on-site restaurant "Danielas" where you have breakfast too. The breakfasts are lovely but the dinner experience was disappointing. We ate here 2 evenings & although we enjoyed the food we found it a bit restrictive as they do not change their menu often. It is a small menu to begin with. They appeared to change it every other day but only a few dishes & often the same things were on each day of our stay. We ate in our room one evening & they looked after us really well as they do not offer room service. We had a lovely table by the window so it seemed a shame not to use it.
They have bicycles & kayaks you can borrow which is a lovely way to explore the lagoon & island itself.
The staff were generally very helpful & attentive although on one evening before dinner we had to wait quite a while for our pre-dinner drinks. They also appeared quite eager to rush us through to the restaurant while we would have preferred to relax & enjoy a few drinks first.
I would have given it 5 stars but have given it 4 due to our disappointment with "Danielas" restaurant & the bar service on occasions. Do not let this put you off staying here as it is a special experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a lagoon facing suite as otherwise you will be overlooking to pool & gardens to the rear...

We had a wonderful room with a terrace. The person on duty gave us many information about the possibilities in knysna and the surroudnings. We liked the place very much.
In the evening we went to the waterfront to the restaurent 34 south. During day we were at the Buffalo Bay and hat a very lazy day at the beautiful beach.

I trust you are well settled into the swing of things back home now, only to still be mesmerised by your self drive vacation along the Garden Route.
We are glad to hear you enjoyed your dinner @ 34 South, it is indeed a wonderful Restaurant and well-liked by our guests.
We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

We had a lovely stay in Leisure Isle Lodge, Knysna. It's a beautiful furnished building and the rooms are comfortable and luxury. The lounge is a great place to relax a bit in the evenings and the swimming pool area was great for during the day. We visited Ile de Pain on Thesen Island for lunch, absolutely a lovely place! Also Firefly for dinner is great - if you like spicy and curry-like food! We will definitely return! Thanks to Carl and Char for all your help and advise!

LOVE Leisure Isle Lodge !

We spent one night here in a deluxe lagoon facing room. They placed a single bed for my son, right next to the window. Which had beautiful views of Bollard Beach and the Heads.

We arrived to a very warm welcome from the lovely Cher. She is really awesome and made our stay wonderful. My son took a liking to her so quickly. We spent the afternoon at the beach and Cher assisted us with some beach toys for my son and beach chairs to laze on. Even though they are not child friendly, they do accept kids under special arrangements. Not once did we feel that my son was in the way.

All staff are friendly and helpful ! HUbby was very impressed with the complimentary car wash the next morning.

Our room was fabulous ! White lines with a fresh feel.. glass vases, sea shells and antique white washed furniture dress up the room.

Nice LCD TV.. and a nice selection in Mini Bar. Super Comfy King sized bed with crisp linen. The bathroom is kitted with Charlottye Rhys products which adds to the luxury.

Yummy breakfast the next morning!

This is now my fav property in Kynsna and I would def return.

Room Tip: Deluxe Lagoon Room has fab views !
