I arrived in the middle of the afternoon and Josie checked me in quickly and efficiently.
As a regular I was happy to go the room on my own.Melissa had aranged with housekeeping to unpack while I was out for dinner.Namhla did this brilliantly and so I was able to enjoy dinner.
After a shower I went down to the bar where Benny,Rory, Darryl Ricardo and Chantel organised my drinks. This is always a great place to start the evening.
After dinner it is great to flop on a really comfy bed. This is the most important thing about any hotel. The bed here is super soft!
My day usually starts in the gym. This is light and airy with magnificent views of the gardens and the mountainWhich helps to take away the pain of the exercise. There is plenty of equipment and there are always a few people burning calories. One comment,I think there should be a polite notice about wiping down equipment.
Having sorted out my sunbed, the reservations policy on this really does work and again takes the stress of bagging a bed each day.
Breakfast is a real treat here.Oma Margaret,Katie and young Margaret are great. They all have beaming smiles and nothing is too much trouble however idiosyncratic the request.
The day is very relaxed under the sun.Lindiwe Sandi Andy and Kyle ensure that the sun umbrellas are put up and drinks and food can be ordered by the pool. They are a happy crew and love finding out that all is going well.
One of my favourite spots in the hotel is the spa. They have a new manager Leandri who is relaxed and friendly.Natalie and Kelly are brilliant therapists.Natalie is superb and ensures that all the tensions are removed from my creaking body!Kelly is tiny but as strong as any masseuse anywhere.I would not pinch food off her plate without permission in writing(LOL)!!!
The transport team led by Donny and Yonnick will always go the extra mile, whether it is dropping things off,or taking you home after dinner. They doing it safely and with a warm smile.Ganief and Peter did most of my trips this time the had plenty of banter.
Verholda Jacques, Busi, Gillian and Crystal as well as the aforementioned Josie are super friendly even when asking for money at the end of the stay!!!
The concierge team has under gone lots of change and Althea is a difficult set of shoes to fill.Melissa is really good and was born to be in customer service, friendly smiling, efficient and most important accurate.Megan has just joined and seems to have good pedigree.Thobeka and Kylie are great fun and are always happy to assist with a beaming smile.Vaughn is highly efficient.
The housekeeping team led by Victoria and Godfrey are brilliant the room is always immaculate after they clean the room.
Pretty did a wonderful job packing at the end of my trip.
Wilson, Urathi and the porters are excellent always keen to help to ensure that things are put in your room quickly and efficiently.
I had one meal in the restaurant the food was excellent and again warm friendly service.
Stacey has now moved to reservations and we enjoy the negotiations on the rates!!
Finally Joey and Xavier-Joey is highly efficient and has a grasp of everything that is going on-he is quick witted and has now been at the hotel for about 27 years. He loves the banter and people that quip back!!!Xavier is the GM and again knows what is happening.Always available and happy to hear feedback both good and bad!He is friendly and approachable with a very dry Gallic humour!
This is a fabulous hotel with great facilties and superb staff.

Beautiful setting right beneath Table Mountain. The food and grounds are amazing. The ambience and service is excellent with a wide range of savoury and sweet selection and a variety of tea choice. Dress is smart but casual and very relaxed

by welcome (13h) after a long trip they stated room may not be ready, not a very polite reception.

On the departure, asking a late check-out they offered it at 4000rands.

Then, our BA flight to London was cancelled and back to hotel at 1am they obliged us to pay full rate in advance at check in. Of course, impossible to have 1h delay in check out time.

Out of the good hotels in Cape Town, worst service and policy at fron desk, not feeling of service quality and friendliness.

We stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful hotel surrounded by manicured gardens, oak and palm trees with 2 swimming pools in the middle of Cape Town. Walking distance to shops and restaurants on Long Street that leads to downtown district. Must dine at Chef's table.
