I've been all over the world and Asoka might just be my new favorite restaurant. From the beautiful, candlelit, fusion artwork, to the delicious menu items, our experience here was nothing but fantastic.

Asoka serves small plates it's perfect for two people to order a variety of plates and share between the two of you. My favorite was obviously the fillet! We also ordered a variety of drinks (Bain's whiskey is native to Cape Town and absolutely delicious), with my favorite one being the Pornstar Martini!

My only complaint was that I feel as though they pack this restaurant full of tables. Obviously the place is lit, but I did feel rather cramped. Hopefully they'll be able to upsize or open up another restaurant (rooftop bar anyone?) because everything about it was fantastic and draws people in!

Went to this restaurant for a special occasion. We have reservations for 9 PM, we were seated and then only brought drinks at 9:45 PM. Then we told the manager this was not acceptable, he told us no problem we can leave. We were probably planning to spend a decent amount of money for this celebration, so I guess it’s our loss. So many wonderful restaurants in Cape Town, to waste any time or money at this one while on vacation is a terrible mistake.

Hi Stephan,

Thank you for your review.

I upsets me to read what you have stated above. You speak of a male manager above? The only male manager employed at Asoka is me and I would never invite a guest to leave unless it was under very extreme circumstances.

PLEASE get in touch with me immediately so that I may get further details on the matter.

With regards to waiting times on drinks, there must have been a miscommunication between parties on an order for drinks to take that long to come out. Maximum waiting time on cocktails on our busiest nights can be anything up to 15 minutes.

I look forward to hearing from you soonest!

Yours in service,

T. Daniels

My first time in Asoka was Sex months ago I came with my wife there . The place is beautiful with little bit of darkness and candles that gives a romantic mode . The food was great m we tried different type of food and cocktails as well as every hour they had different type of cocktails which was good . In terms of the staff . Well presented and they were very fast with the orders . We had a waitress that welcomed us warmly i think her name was lynne . She was great at her job . I highly recommend her . I give it a 5* lounge .
