Having been fortunate enough to be taken to Pilansberg with work I didn't really know what to expect. To give a view I will break it down as follows:
Location: Unbeatable. Within the confines of the national park you can literally see lion, elephant, zebra, baboons without leaving your room! Coupled with the proximity to Sun City if you fancy eating elsewhere in the evenings makes this ideal.
Rooms: On the whole good but nothing that will blow you away. If I had any gripe at all it would be the shower quality but that's it. The bed was very comfy though with the first game drive at 5.30 am I wasn't in it that much.
Facilities: overall great as well, I was a little disappointed by the number of leaves in the pool which the staff didn't seem to ever clear out, but I guess this could be a full time job on it's own.

In summary you are probably in this part of the World for the safaris and this hotel location makes it hard to beat for that alone.

On the first evening saw an elephant right outside the dining room drinking at a water hole. Beautiful hide you can reach from inside the hotel grounds. Lots of play areas for children to keep them amused when you are not on game drives. Fantastic braai (barbecue) in the boma (area enclosed in reeds to protect you from wild animals) one night. Staff went out of their way to make it a night to remember. Game drive combined with treasure hunt was a fun evening had by all. Only down side is the bathroom. Shower a triangular shape so tiny that you keep banging your elbows n the wall when you try and shower. Toilet so low it is almost on the floor.

Kwa Maritane Bush lodge is like a comfortable oasis in the middle of the desert. Located in the Pilanesberg National Park it gives great opportunity to enjoy the African wildlife namely the big five. Rooms or lodges are spacious in fact even a single bed was as large as the conventional double bed. Rooms are fitted with AC,TV spacious attached baths with bathing tubs. Each room has a good view of the jungle and the wildlife. It is recommended to keep the balcony door closed so that birds may not enter the room. Guided tours are available into the Pilanesberg National Park. The famous Sun City is also close by.
If one takes the early morning jungle safari then packed breakfast veg/nonveg is provided otherwise one can enjoy a buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner that has a wide choice. A great attraction is a visit to the Sun City that is in close proximity.

Great location for visits to Pilanesburg National Park and Sun City, also a short drive from Johannesburg. Ideal quiet location without the busy hotel atmosphere. Guest room was very comfortable and opened out onto the surrounding gardens. The game drives are great and you get to see a wide array of animals and the surrounds. Overall very happy with the stay, no big complaints.

Pilanesberg natural reserve is breathtaking and safe to visit with your own car (recommend small SUV or like for an elevated view over the bush). Also malaria-free! Kwa Maritane is excellent, it even has an own hide to view a drinking spot for wild animals. Birds, elefants, etc.
