If only every holiday could be organised and executed with such precision. Everything from the booking to the facilities and wonderful hosts was seven stars. Amanda and Paddy's knowledge of the Kruger and surrounding area was invaluable to getting the most out of our days without rushing around. My families expectations were exceeded at every stage, we would highly recommend umSisi house.

We are always happy to book activities and create a memorable journey to other properties for our guests. The beauty of working everything out in advance is that you are truly on holiday from the moment you arrive. We are the ultimate Kruger fans and love sharing our knowledge of this fascinating and diverse national park. We truly hope that you come back to visit us again! Kind regards Amanda

A home away from home.... Umsisi House was luxury on a stick, not only is the house stunning but the views are breath taking especially while drinking a delicious bottle of unwooded chardonnay on the terrace. Our hosts Paddy & Amanda could not have been more hospitable from organising all of our day trips filled with adventure for the whole family and sending us on a self drive into the Kruger with the most delicious packed picnic of yogurt and homemade granola to Deli sandwiches which we all devoured while searching for the big 5.

The food is simply another topic!!! WOW every evening we were treated to some seriously delicious food drawing particular attention to Paddy's chicken pie! Dinner was always something to look forward to.

We will definitely go back and visit Umsisi House and refer to any friends/family that are heading to South Africa as Paddy & Amanda's passion for Africa is really infectious not to mention the service and the food.

Thank you for leaving us with such great memories of Africa!

We are so proud of you for taking our recipe for Chicken and Tarragon pie home and immediately recreating this masterpiece! Thank you for sharing the photographs with us. We loved having your family here to stay with us at umSisi House and hope that you return again soon for some more mouth-watering moments. Thank you for sending us such yummy gourmet delights and the Pie Bible from London. We have many wonderful pie moments ahead! Kind regards Amanda

Having this heavenly (fully-serviced) home to yourself is such a treat compared to the stiff atmosphere you can get at some game lodges. But this is no ordinary home from home. umSisi House is a safari-goer’s colonial dream-come-true – it’s that house we’ve all imagined living in since we saw Out of Africa – except with all the modern luxuries and creature comforts you could dream of thrown in with the deal. And it was every bit as good the second time around.

The large, airy bedrooms are decorated in sun-bleached neutral shades with elegant African accessories adding splashes of color. Both of ours had stunning views of the lioness shaped mountain that watches over the house. Our huge inviting beds were the most comfortable we stayed in on our entire trip with luxurious linens lulling you to sleep (and oversleep in my case).

Hosts (and resident chefs) Amanda and Paddy are there as much or as little as you like – cooking up dishes that put them firmly on South Africa foodie trail. Once you get to know them you’ll be keen to monopolise their time with their exciting stories and bush know-how.

My friend and I only had time for one full-day’s safari on our stay but our guide Nesley couldn’t have made it more magical. Packed off with a gourmet picnic at the crack of dawn we were watching a family of elephants fighting and grazing less than an hour after leaving.

After an awe-inspiring day in the African bush dinner back at UmSisi begins with a cocktail on the terrace and the day’s stories unravel over a feast you would more imagine finding in a major metropolis. (I have never eaten better food on Safari).

The following morning there was just enough time for a relaxing swim in the pool with the magnificent African horizon beyond reminding us that we really did manage to run away to the great outdoors.

Staff Esther and Precious couldn’t have been move helpful throughout. All round perfection!

Room Tip: Go with a group and book the whole house with catering included

To stay at Umsisi is a treat. The hospitality is warm, the food outstanding, the location very good near the Numbi gate. The house itself is beautiful with a large veranda for summer nights. We enjoyed cycling as a family.

Room Tip: Book in the main house for the full experience.

Gourmet food, wonderful hosts, beautiful views and extremely comfortable beds.. Secluded tranquillity in a secure environment and on the doorstep of the Kruger. Whatever you want to do, will be organised for you without hassle and you can be assured of quality Don't bother looking elsewhere, you will love this place! Very unusual for me to be so positive but I could not find a single thing to moan about!
