The huts are very spacious and the wild garden is just wonderful.
Would recommend this place to anyone!

We reached Rock - a - Bye after our visit to the KNP. The beautiful surroundings and the spacious accommodation were much appreciated. We were self catering and the house was charmingly decorated and comfortable. More than once I found myself saying , "That;'s a good idea" or "Wow, how clever to have thought of that!" The house is full of old books which gives it a home from home ambience.Unfortunately cold weather prevented us from using the plunge pool and braai that are for the sole use of the house. There is another pool for the B&B guests. Warren is a genial host, This is definitely a 'find'!

The setting is fantastic, close to all amenities but far enough for it to be quiet and secluded. Groves of trees, gardens and river walk make it feel like a wilderness escape which is perfect after sitting in a car all day looking for animals. Breakfast is fantastic! Views are great, hosts are great, accommodation is great - a lot more spacious than we anticipated and very cozy. Kitchenettes aren't large, but as expected for a kitchenette and equipped with everything necessary so as to eat in if you'd like. Try and get the rondavel with bath and shower, it's a nice way to relax on cool nights. Rustic but with all the needed luxuries you'd want to find at a hotel, little touches that make it exceptional. Highly recommended.

In a moment of insanity, my fiancé entered the Induna mountain bike ride held in Hazyview of June this year..but that is a story of excruciating pain for another time and place. While the aching leg muscles will become a distant memory, we will always remember (and surely return to) Rock-A-Bye bed and breakfast. We were welcomed by, Warren, the owner of the macadamia nut farm on which this paradise is situated and shown to one of three beautiful, well equipped thatched 2-person rondavels. The family cottage is situated a bit further away and looked equally quaint. The peaceful location made for a very relaxing getaway and while being completely in the bush alongside the Sabie river, every city-girl’s ‘necessities’ from mozzi mats to plush feathered bed-linen was provided. There are even lock up garages for us paranoid Jozi-burgers. We chose the self-catering option but caught the delicious aroma of breakfast being prepared in the mornings. A stroll among the citrus and nut trees down to the river is a definite must and there is a rock pool for guests who wish to cool off. The staff and animals (dogs, cats, chickens, cows, sheep, mutant insects..) are all super friendly and all of this made for a simply stunning stay. Well done Warren and Lynda on creating an awesome getaway spot.

Room Tip: Each rondavel caters for max 2 adults -no under 14

We stayed at Rock-a-Bye for six weeks in May and June of 2010. We stayed in the guest house, first with friends first and then with daughter and her son. The accomodations were wonderful, large kitchen fully equipped, braai outside that we used often, large dining room and living room plus the two bedrooms and two baths - and an outside shower!!! We couldn't have been happier or been better cared for. Cleaning woman every day who would also do our laundry and who cleaned the braai too! We will return.
