Chilled oasis at The lifestyle Centre in Ballito.

Trendy bar/ brewery with vibrant menu ranging from snack boards to burgers to exotic pizzas. Cool shooters too. A Must try if you’re in this
part of the world.

We have been to the Robsons in Durban and we absolutely loved it so we chose to eat there while in Ballito the other day. The vibe was great but the service was very slow and the food underwhelming.

The beer at Robsons is always good but we asked for 350ml and got 500ml glasses. We were then told by the waitress that she wasn't going to ask the barman to redo the order because he would shout at her, which seemed to me like they didn't really care about service delivery. We waited an hour for our burgers, which is unacceptable for the types of burgers that we ordered. Most of us ordered chips, which were great, but the ones who ordered salad were disappointed as we were given a wilted salad with lots of lettuce and a couple of tomatoes on it.

This branch is going to have to up their game before I go back again.

Thought we would give the Lifestyle Center revamp the once over - decided on lunch and tried this out - modern rather basic setting we sat inside - we had an issue with the loud rather inappropriate music which was eventually resolved we ordered from a fairly comprehensive menu of typical pub offerings me a burger which was ok - nice ground patty with slaw and a cheese / bacon topping but the chips were soggy - the paper board liner suffered the same fate - my partner fared much worse - the order was a pulled duck salad - basically a hot mishmash of meat and gravy heavily over spiced with chili in a bowl of lettuce with some tomato onion and cucumber - we were asked by management about the food and did not hold back - seems they are still finding their way I was told - lets hope what was said was taken in - oh yes the beer - that was good and well priced so all was not lost.

After walking around the re-vamped lifestyle centre we popped into this modern looking bar and enjoyed a few ales. The service was friendly and efficient but there were a couple of kids playing ball which knocked my beer over. Kids will be kids but we decided not to chance eating here. Will try again.

I reviewed this establishment in December and put the shoddy service down to it being high season and teething problems....
Visited at 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon out of season, the place was all but empty.
Eventually ( sigh) was approached by a waitress whose enthusiasm waned instantly when told we were just there for a drink.
Menus that were swiftly taken from us were returned, rather reluctantly I thought, when I asked to see the list of beers which turned out to be a waste of time because my first, second and third choice were unavailable and I ended up ordering Castle Lite.....at a brewery!
Needless to say we didn’t hang around.
There appears to be no managers present and the staff congregate around a table chatting among themselves.
I hope I’m wrong but the way I see it, if things don’t rapidly improve....
Need I say more!
