One of the best places for a "Durban" curry. Whether a "standard" mutton curry, Bunny Chow or Roti etc each meal is delicious. At times the restaurant if busy and service is a little effected but the meal is worth the wait. A firm favorite of locals and certainly every person I have taken to Capsicum (commonly known as Brittania") has raved about the flavor of the curry.

Food arrived Luke warm. A curry can not be eaten at that temperature. Informed the waiter. He said that he will inform his supervisor "Grace". 15 mins later I asked the waiter as to what is going on as the cold food was still on our table and the supervisor hadn't bothered to attend to us. At this point my kids were forced to eat cold food. The supervisor sent a message with the the waiter that the food was warm when sent to the table and there is nothing that she can do. Shocking service. Grace is actually a disgrace to this establishment. I shall never return.

We decided to take one of our sales colleagues from Cape Town for a typical Durban curry and Chose the Capsicum at the Britannia Hotel.I was pleasantly surprised to see the comfortable seating area. The ladies ordered a Mutton wrap (R89.00) which they thoroughly enjoyed.I ordered their signature dish - Trotters curry with Sugar beans and Basmati rice. (R84,00)The Curry was perfect and delicious in true Durban style.Cooled off with a Bombay Crush and sweetened off with Soji. A return trip is a must. Free and secured off Street parking.

Bunny chow was average and on the small side. Curry had a strange aftertaste and some of the meat slightly burned. Service slow and inattentive. Have eaten better food here in the past.

We have always enjoyed the food here. This last visit was a huge disappointment. We sat in the pub area and was 15 min before we could get service. Food took long. The Mutton breyanis was more like pilaau. Just bones and rice. The Mutton bunny was good. All the food was lukewarm. Service was extremely bad.
