The hotel is generally lovely; Great location, clean, and rooms were nice and spacious. My 3 rating is mainly due to staff, who were not very friendly I must say. The front desk/reception staff were surprisingly not friendly, neither were they helpful.
Also due to the bustle of human activity, the hotel is quite noisy, loud music, and quite noisy patrons as well.

We stayed for 2 nights in a Superior room with a sea facing view. At £57 per night for a king sized bedroom for two persons the rate was very attractive.
The room was spacious, clean and quiet (on the 14th floor) and the sea view was for sure impressive.
The included breakfast was fantastic with a huge range of options from cold buffer through to fully cooked "English breakfast". Beware the baked beans - they are spiced enough to take your head off and the "crispy bacon" is not crispy. Otherwise the food quality was good. We tried the indoor swimming pool which looked great but was a tad cold for me.
So why not a higher rating (I have given it 3 out of 4) .... ?
You can park your car outside on the street for free but we opted for the preferred indoor parking at an extra charge of R65 per night - WHAT a mistake - it is totally disasterous! If you are driving a Fiat 500 or a motor cycle then read on but otherwise even if you have a medium sized car, you will find the lack of space for both the parking size and room for manoevering ridiculously inadequate and there is a high chance of you or someone else marking your doors - we literally had to look around and demand a new space (which was not forthcoming at the start).
The second down rating was based on the breakfast waiter service. the food was self service so no problem but you had to rely on a waiter for tea and coffee. First we could not attract the eye of anyone even though they were walking around us, I then got up and asked a guy to help us. He acknowledged walked off and then disappeared. We eventually asked another guy who did the same! A third asking got one the requested normal tea but not the Rooibos tea also asked for. This was really terrible service and I hope a one off for the day. the other morning as also a bit slow but we did get what we asked for while we still had food on the table.
Would I stay again? Based on the nice rooms, probably although I would definitely not take the internal car parking option. On the other hand, I would probably also check out other hotels as well

On a yearly basis, we celebrate our anniversary at the Blue Waters hotel. Over the past few years we experienced the upgrades of the hotel and still, we remained loyal guests.
From entering the hotel, the very friendly staff at reception, housekeeping staff, parking attendants and the restaurant staff will make you feel at home. The hotel is always clean and even In the midst of renovations it maintained its status as a well-run, well-kept hotel. Compliments to all the staff.

A special mention should be given to the restaurant. All the managers, chefs and waiters are running a well organised and professional restaurant. The buffet is open to everybody and by the volume of visitors paying, to be part of it, it is proven an enjoyable experience. Well done.

2nd visit within 12 months and what a difference between the visits: the spread of food has almost disappeared! The main course was roasted pork ( very good ) + chicken curry and nothing else ( naturally there is pasta, rice veggie etc but no sea food etc ). The price remain unchanged and is cheap for visitors ( low Rand ): the Southern Sun down the road has much much bigger spread but price is also much higher....
