Came solo for a work trip and had lunch here. The sushi and the dim sum was delicious. Big dim sum portions, nice!

Was a wonderful first time experience, will definitely be back. Our server Prince was super friendly and his recommendation of duck was spot on. Thank you
Revisited The Green Peppercorn again after six months. In summary, great service, fantastic food. A must for anyone visiting Morningside area.
Taking advantage of the special offer of a Restaurant Week reduced price meal, I booked for a friend and I to have a midweek lunch at The Green Peppercorn where I have twice had very good lunches before, but this time expecting that the reduced price might also mean reduced quantities.
I could not have been more wrong! The starter was so substantial that halfway through my main course I was beginning to regret having had breakfast that morning.
Our first impression was of the service - very welcoming and relaxed, but super efficient, and so much so that even had the food been less than satisfactory our experience would still have been memorable. Unfortunately my guest had dropsy on that day, but within seconds staff responded with great efficiency and smiles that prevented any embarrassment.
The tablets containing the menu were delivered promptly and the tutorial on their use was entertaining but swift, and in no time at all we had placed our orders.
Drinks arrived within minutes, and as we waited (but not for long), we were able to enjoy the very smart but relaxed semi-outdoor setting.
My guest chose a sushi starter, and she thoroughly enjoyed the five large portions that arrived on a well-presented platter. My starter comprised a delicious assortment of samplings - vegetarian, seafood and a shredded pork samoosa. Both of us expressed the view that the platters were almost sufficient for an entire meal. (The normal prices for the tasting plates are fairly high, but I have decided that when I next visit I'll probably repeat the sample platter starter, notwithstanding the price.)
For our main courses we both had beef fillet cooked to perfection, and the sharp steak knives went through them like butter. This was served with a cheese sauce and was accompanied by shredded mushrooms and deliciously crunchy homemade potato croquettes. (Unfortunately no English mustard was available - only Dijon - so steak lovers might do well to take a bottle with them.)
By the time we got around to the dessert (deep-fried Lindt chocolate in a sweet pastry, served with whipped cream), we felt that even at normal prices we would have already had more than our money's worth. Excellent coffee rounded off the meal and we staggered off after thanking the manager on duty and emphasizing that the service had been outstanding, as had the food.
Parking: There were more cars in the open parking area than in the very spacious basement that has staircases and lifts very close to the restaurants. Use the basement - there is no extra fee.
I am greatly looking forward to my next visit to The Green Peppercorn.
Ate here about 2 years ago and went back a few weeks ago.
I ordered the Choc Chilli Ostrich and my wife had a salad. The restaurant has maintained the good standard. The ostrich was excellent and cooked to perfection, with the choc-chlli having a subtle sting in the tail.
Service was good
