“Horrible”

Greenacres Shopping Centre

What on earth were the developers thinking when they re-designed the mall.
The new "parking lot" layout is a cluster b*gger up of note; not only is the new design confusing and ridiculous, there are now fewer parking bays and the "roads" between are so narrow I had to do a 6 point turn to try and get out the other day (unless you drive a Smart car then you wont have a problem).
The center is now confusing with all sorts of little "alleys" here and there; and I went to the "new" ablution facilities by the food section only to find that the most of the toilet stalls did not even have doors; seats broken and slide sideways when you sit on them.....the list is endless.

Horrible mall - crowded, dusty, just generally bad. Stay away, this is no "attraction". You are better off shopping somewhere else.

That's pretty much all I can say. Everything I needed was there: CNA, Clicks with pharmacy, Woolworths. There's nothing fun or exciting about it

The mall opened in the late 70s on the site of a race course and was the first proper American style mall in PE although at the time it was really quite small compared to its current size. It has grown to about 4 times its original size with other shops on the margins in the road around. There are old new and rennovated sections as it is really about 4 different malls all joined together now. You can find pretty much everything you need here and it is a lot more racially mixed than other malls in PE. But it does have a bit of a dated feel to it now with much newer malls such as Walmer Park and Baywest having taken over its role as the place to shop in PE.

The renovations and new entrance are very impressive, but it's a little too late to revive the malls reputation. Yes there is a great selection of shops, but as if the the pick-pocketing, and shoplifting and general crime isn't off putting enough, you do not want to have to use the bathrooms! Yuck! I'm sure you could have spared some money in the fancy revolving doors to fix the latches on the bathroom doors and actually put soap in the soap dispensers.
