It's one of the best place we stayed on our 3-week journey. It's breathtaking entering the room and facing the sea right in front of you! Warm welcome, best advices from Mr. Kees, who for sure is the soul of the house!
Well: the bathroom is very small and not very comfortable, but the room is big, clean and bright.
The restaurant next door is excellent

Room Tip: Insist on Seaview!

This hotel is stunningly position right on the water's edge, with brilliant sea views and nicely apart from the more touristy areas of town. The owner, Kees, took special efforts to welcome us and recommend activities around the area - we very much enjoyed hiking along the Robberg Peninsula, our whalewatching trip, and Birds of Eden, all recommended by Kees. We also enjoyed eating at Lemon Grass Restaurant every night - when all the Plettenberg Bay restaurants had their own sea views as their selling points, we just knew we were in the best one!

Room Tip: Try to stay in a sea-facing room, even if it's just available for one night of your stay. This is so very worth it!!

What a spot. I don't think you could come up with a more amazing location right at the rivers mouth with water almost all the way around! Kees and Craig were great hosts and did a great job sorting out reservations for us over Christmas when we showed up with nothing booked! We had two suites adjacent to eachother for my wife and I and our two kids (15 and 8) which worked really well considering they do not have a family suite.

When we said goodbye to Kees, Craig and everybody @ Milkwood Manor it was as though we were leaving home....so comfortable, friendly, helpful and @ home they had made us feel! It is impossible to get closer to the sea & the lagoon and the views from the restaurant and the roof of the guesthouse were breathtaking! The staff greeted with a smile and Kees, the owner was always filled with information and things to do in Plett and had many interesting stories to tell. We took the guesthouse kayak over the lagoon to the white sandy beach that stretched for miles and took a refreshing swim in the sea.

Very nice gesture : when we came outside we found our car had been washed!

Room Tip: Request a sea / lagoon facing room with a balcony

It has already been said that one of the things that makes Milkwood special is the perfect position on the waters edge and for exploring the Garden route. The other thing that makes it special is Kees' knowledge and passion for the area....he says if you can stay three weeks he can suggest something different for every day! Having breakfast over looklng the ocean is a delight and you wont be disappointed with quality of your stay.

Room Tip: Room 10 is above the kitchen and can get a bit noisy at night
