We loved this little museum. It's really small and very fun to go through. It tells a good story about the town and that era. Can't beat the $1 price for seniors.

This is an outdoor museum and has an exhibition of the mine head and ancient machinery used. You can look down the mine shaft and get an idea of how low the miners had to descend. It is amazing to think that in the early 1920s they were able to build a generator (on view) powerful enough to bring in water from a distance away to power the machinery used. There is no charge for entry.

This small museum does a good job at telling the history of Jerome. The items that stood out in my mind were a typewriter with no shift key (therefore, an upper and lower set of keys) as well as a Chinese washing machine. Admission for seniors is $1.00.

First let me say that I am not a “rock/mineral guy, but I am a history guy though. I found the museum to be well worth the tour. The movie was even well done for what it is. It was very interesting and informative. The town itself was situated high on the side of the mountain which made it very unique especially for the kids. The only draw back I can think of is the drive from Sedona requires you to go through a small town, still it was a short drive and well worth it.

This is proof that good things come in small packages. In spite of the small space the museum delivers a good, comprehensive look at Jerome's history as a mining town. Compact and easy to follow this is a quick way to learn about Jerome. Less than an hour is needed to go through. Two dollars gets you in, $1 if you are over 60.
