We checked in around 9:30 pm which was a little late for us and we were already tired. We also had to be up early the next day at 6 am for my sons baseball tournament. We had booked a king suite because we like to have extra room. Well after 3 different attempts to get into our room-including the front desk clerk trying with the master key-we weren’t able to get in. The clerk then proceeded to let us know that there were no other suites available so we would have to downgrade to a regular room, with only $10 taken off each night. By this time it was close to 10:30 and we were not happy but just went with it. The worst part about it was that there was no apology whatsoever! Very unprofessional. He also told us if there was another suite available the next night we could have it...we decided not to bother but he never followed up with a call, and we saw him multiple times throughout our stay and still not a word or an apology. Also the next day I dealt with a different desk clerk, I told her we didn’t receive any service in our room even though we took the do not disturb sign off and were gone until 3:00. I asked for clean towels, she gave them to me but once again-no apology! The nicest person there that was very attentive and who would even acknowledge us was the breakfast attendant every morning. Everyone else was rude! The room was decent-clean with no complaints(except no service-which my sister said they had the same problem while staying there). However the poor customer service turned us off completely to Red Lion. We will stick to our usual Marriotts and Hilton’s from now on.

One of the best customer service I have received. We asked if possible early check in and did everything possible to accommodate us and same with late check out. Definitely not just because they were able to accommodate us, but they really cared about helping us. I will take here and have family stay here when we all visit family in the area. Thanks again.

1/2 of our party was continuing on to Palm Springs and the other 1/2 was flying back home, so this West Phoenix area hotel was a perfect spot to stay (only 25 min to rental car returns). The rooms were clean and felt large, and the beds were comfortable. Some of the desk staff was friendlier than others (all were at least pleasant). The complimentary breakfast was nice -- eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy. The only nit was that the air conditioner was loud. Didn't hear any other sounds. Had a Jacuzzi tub, but just used it as a shower.

We stayed 5 nights. We called ahead to see when we could check in as we had a really early flight. We arrived at that time but our room wasn't ready so we were upgraded to a king suite for no additional charge. All the staff were very nice. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was really good. We were totally satisfied with our stay!

We have stayed at the Red Lion several times a month for the last 4 months while our daughter receives treatment at CTCA. We have stayed in many hotels but never met a nicer or caring staff from check in, maid service, to the chef. Jillian goes out of her way to make people comfortable and assist in any of your needs to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Sofia is also the same way always assist you with a warm and cheerful. The gentlemen at night was also very helpful. Will be returning soon.

Room tip: Mini suites are comfortable
