I didn't spend the night here, BUT I live nearby and my mom has stayed here twice (so I got a peek inside). Hands down, these are the NICEST rooms you will find in the area outside of pricey Sedona. The location is fantastic, several restaurants, cafes, and unique shops are within walking distance. The downside is the price is higher than the other lodgings in the immediate area, and don't expect a view of the beautiful Verde Valley (the location makes that impossible). Also, there is not a manned 24-hour front desk, so if there's a problem you must call an emergency number and wait for help to come. But the rooms are comfy, brand-new and GORGEOUS!

We didn't expect to find such a beautifully designed room with
large walk in shower - beautifully tiled
also provided unexpected ammenities such as fruit,
refrigerator & all one needed -
especially appreciated "glass" & not plastic glasses.
& appreciated with wine opener being available.

Great location - walk to shops & restaurants.

You have to check in at the Tavern Restaurant next door so there is no front desk or luggage racks. You also have to go to restaurant for ice. There are only 10 rooms located down a hallway with 5 on each side. The hall is beautifully decorated & very upscale throughout including the rooms. Had a shower but no bathtub which suits us fine. Beds were comfortable & clean.

The Tavern Hotel is delightful! The rooms were spotless and decorated in a very current style. We stayed in room 101. Even with all the lamps on, it was dark, with only one side window which faced a wall. I would suggest a brighter floor lamp so the room could be well lit when wanted.
There is a nice seating area out front the hotel to sit and hang out. It does face a parking lot, but it really didn't matter.
The coupons for free drinks and continental breakfast were a nice addition. The Crema Cafe across the street had wonderful coffee drinks and homemade scones for breakfast!
I would definitely recommend the Tavern Hotel and hope to return.

Room Tip: Ask if there is a room which has more light than 101 did and where you don't hear the piped in muzak in the lobby.
