“Dream Anniversary Vacation”
Reviewed 25 April 2012

The gorgeous and breathtaking natural envrionment is complemented superbly by the attentive, warm and welcoming service at this marvelous resort! The staff (Guillame, Max, Sebastian, Riati, Moe, Moea, and Maileti--just to name a few) fully delivered when it came to exceptional care and friendliness. The grounds are amazing. Our overwater bungalow was smartly decorated, plush and comforatable, immaculate and very spacious. We really enjoyed riding the resort bikes around the grounds and going to and from our bungalow (you do have to leave a bag or towel on your bikes when you park them or they will dissapear!). The food overall, although extremely expensive (about $32 for a pizza) was always delicious. Room service is actually top-restaurant quality. The included breakfast was good (fresh fruit, cheeses, cereals, pastries, various fruit drinks, etc) but did get a little redundant towards the end. This resort does have an in-house baker, so count on having croissants, baguettes and even pizza crust to die for! We had several meals right on the beach at the resort, and our romantic sunset dinner in a cabana on the beach was truly memorable. The sushi at the Japanese restaurant was pretty good. My husband went fishing wiht a local and brought back some "varo" which the restaurant chef graciously offered to prepare and serve us one night for dinner. The comfort-level at the resort is so good that it's sometimes hard to leave, but for a change of pace, one can take the free boat shuttle to the mainland and have a simple, tastey lunch at Aloe or dinner at the popular Bloody Mary's. As part of our Anniversary package we had a couples Polynesian massage that was fantastic! The spa area is very serene and inviting. A bit dissapointed, however, that some of the services are not available due to future remodeling (sauna, steam). The beach area is gorgeous. The sand is powdery soft and clean. We appreciated having easy access to the beach goodies: kayaks, hobie sailboat, paddleboards, etc. and the beach guys are very helpful and friendly. The lounge chairs are always clean and readily available. We initially waivered between the St. Regis and another major resort before booking but are very pleased that we went with this one. We booked through Pacific-For-Less and are truly grateful for having done this. Claudia and her staff were invaluable in helping us create an incredible and memorable anniversary trip of a liefetime. Their recommendation to take a Jet Ski/ATV tour was spot-on and allowed us to learn so much about Bora Bora, and the Polynesian culture. Our tour guide, Louis, took us to his "motu" and showed us how he lives off his land. He served us fresh coconut water, gave us the sweetest, most gigantic grapefruit ever and let us snack on bananas right off the tree. Meeting his friendly pet pig, Popoti, was a highlight too! Our Love Boat photo tour, also recommended by PFL, was beyond amazing. This truly is a must-do for any couple vacationing in Bora Bora. Our guide and photographer, Vincent, gave us so much insight about the island, and took us to some jaw-dropping, awesome spots not generally seen by most tourists. The snorkeling portion of our tour was spectacular. We returned from that tour love-struck by the island, feeling like we gained a friend, plus got a disc on the spot with 300+ pictures of that entire experience (including really cool underwater shots). We feel so blessed to have been able to sink our feet in the Bora Bora sand, take delicious, refreshing dips in the crystal clear water right off our bungalow and to have met such lovely people (fellow vacationers and staff). If you are going to travel this far, I would recommend staying at a place that compliments and fulfills what a dream vacation should be. For us, there was nothing better than St. Regis. I can't really think of anything negative about the resort, other than maybe some of the bungalows look like they could use some TLC on the outside (a few broken shutters here and there, some wood fading). Overall, an experience of a lifetime!

Room Tip: Book with Pacific-For-Less for a great room upgrade

Breathtaking, spectacular, exquisite, exceptional, beyond words. There really aren't words to accurately describe this Resort, their accomadations, and their people. Everything you could ever want in a luxury resort for a honeymoon. From the pick up at the airport, to the island tours by club cars, to every staff member knowing you and addressing you by name your entire trip, they pamper you and make you feel like you are the only guests on the property. It bothers me when people get on here and talk about price and value; you are in the Tahitian islands at a St. Regis, you come here and stay here because you can afford it and because you don't have to worry about how much things cost. That is what makes this resort so spectacular. They spare no expense and it shows. The service is incomporable, the amenities are the best I've ever had, and the fact that I was able to watch the NCAA Championship Game while over looking Mt. Otemanu and eating Haggan Daaz ice cream proves that anything and everything is possible. The food is fantastic, from some of the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had, to the Lagoon Restaurant and Sushi being great meals. Every where you look is a postcard and you simply won't want to leave. I can't think of a single complaint. We will be coming back here to celebrate our anniversary and will be telling anyone and everyone who asks that this is a must visit location and must stay hotel.

Room Tip: Premier Overwater Bungalows are the way to go. Yes you pay up for them but you are in Bora Bora and...

My husband and I have been to Hawaii a number of times and it was our favorite place on earth but we just might have a new favorite! Our trip to Bora Bora was amazing! First off, let me say that if you are planning on going anywhere in the Pacific, use the travel agency "Pacific for Less!" They were wonderful! Our Travel Consultant was Jennifer Dillon. She really took the time to find out what was important to us in a vacation, booked the flights from LA, transfers between islands, a few restaurant reservations, excursions, spa appointments etc. many at discounted prices had we not booked via the agency. We felt well taken care of! We received an itinerary and reminders of where we were going, when and how to get there for the entire trip. There were people to greet you at the docks so you knew where to go. Awesome!

Regarding where to stay on Bora Bora, no question the St. Regis is your best bet. The people were so friendly and helpful. It is quite a large property so the staff will come pick you up from your hut in a golf cart whenever you would like. You just need to dial up and request it. But, even if you didn't they will often offer rides when they see you walking around the property. Re. the huts--they were the nicest lodging we have EVER stayed in! (and we have stayed in some really nice places). Spacious, great furnishings, wired for sound, killer views, heart shaped tub and rainforest shower.

Regarding the excursions, we highly recommend the Love Boat tour--a private boat tour with just you and your guide who takes you around the island, takes hundreds of pictures which you get on a CD, takes you to an AMAZING snorkeling spot and ends with drinking champagne out of a coconut! The water was so clear and blue. We saw many fish, sting rays and even a small shark (from the boat-don't worry, these sharks don' t attack). Our guide, who is a "local" also said that the St. Regis was the best place to stay on the island. Quite a recommendation.

A great place for dinner is Villa Mahana. Great French food and wine pairing! You need to take a boat ride to the main island but well worth it see what the island is like and the views.

Bora Bora also has the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen. The whole sky turns a gorgeous pink. Breathtaking! Trip of a lifetime!

Our message is that if you visit Bora Bora, you must stay at the St Regis - you wont regret it!

We thought that we were lucky enough to be able to visit Bora Bora last year, but visiting once again has made us two of the luckiest people! The beauty of the Island, which you are able to see as soon as your plane makes it's approach to the airport, takes your breathe away. The vivid colours of the Island and the water that surrounds it, make it as if you have just stepped into a beautiful painting. It is exactly like the postcards, and you feel as though you should pinch yourself in order to make sure it is real.

For us, staying at the St Regis Bora Bora was an obvious choice. Having been to Bora Bora a year earlier, we knew our way around the island, as well as what all the other hotels had to offer in terms of location, room size, service, choice of activities and restaurants. When you arrive at the St Regis after a 15 minute jaw dropping boat road from the airport with a lei around your neck, and are greeted by your personal butler, you feel instantly relaxed and know you have arrived for what is going to be the most spectacular holiday. You may be asking why choose the St Regis over any other hotel on the Island, which are surely all beautiful? The answer is that (for us at least) there are a number of things we believe made our stay at the St Regis better than if we had stayed at another hotel. Firstly the service, I can say that this is some of the best service we have ever received (and I myself work in the service industry), with a 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude that is shared by all members of the team. Importantly, you really do get a sense that the staff are truly happy working at the St Regis. The fact that they are able to organise so many incredible activities for you at the drop of a hat is an extra bonus. Secondly, the location of the St Regis is by far the best of all the hotels on the island. It has the best views, is in the best part of the lagoon, with the very best swimming directly in front of your room. The entire hotel and all its surroundings are incredibly photogenic and relaxing. Thirdly, the rooms are the largest you will find in the area, with a minimum size of 1,550 Square Feet / 144 Square Meters - ie HUGE! Everything is incredibly spacious, from the bedroom and bathroom, to the living room and private outdoor sun deck. In addition, the rooms are designed not only for luxury, but also privacy.

I hope that the above small snippet helps in your decision of where to stay in Bora Bora. Being the most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed in, we have no hesitation in recommending the St Regis to anyone that is willing to listen.

Recently spent a week at the St. Regis in Bora Bora and had an amazing time. The level of luxury os unlike any experience I have ever had. The food was terrific, the rooms were amazing and the resort was one of a kind.

Free use of snorkling equipment, paddle boats, sail boats, etc. makes it a very fun plac e to play. The views are terrific and the staff could not have been friendlier. Absolutely worth the cost.

Room Tip: We stayed on the island side and had a great view of the main island of Bora Bora. Breathtaking vie...
