“Beyond gorgeous”
Reviewed 7 May 2012

Fabulous, once in a lifetime trip to Bora Bora, made all the more special by the friendly and helpful staff at the Hilton and the gorgeous views and location that is Bora Bora. We stayed in both the Lagoon View Suite (on land) and a Deluxe Overwater Bungalow. The on land suite was actually bigger than the overwater bungalow but both were furnished exactly the same and set out in the same layout. Of course, u can't go past the novelty of having the ocean right there outside your doorstep. And those sunset views - breath taking! My only complaint is that the wait staff often had trouble understanding English (they all speak French) and would get something wrong with my order on almost every meal, which got a bit annoying. But big thumbs up to the barman, Heera, who was super friendly and had some great stories to tell of the celebrities who have stayed at the resort in the past. A truly relaxing and memorable trip for this babymooning couple.

Everything was perfect! From the room, to the people, to the food and drink! We had an amazing vacation! When we arrived we had a less than perfect room location (due to our travel agent-not the hotel) we asked for an upgraded room and they made it happen. All of their staff were so friendly and helpful, and the grounds are so beautiful and kept. It was perfect!

Room Tip: Look at a map of their rooms and pick a room or at least a location when booking yourself or with a...

We spent 6 nights here for our honeymoon in early April. I was worried that it was coming out of wet season, and we might experience a few days of rain, especially when we circled the airport to wait for the storm to land, but we only had a few light sprinkles on one day and in the most part the weather was beautiful.

I had booked the deal through an online 'deals' style website, and we were able to upgrade to an overwater bungalow when we were there for much less than our booking agent had quoted, so we spent 3 nights in a Garden Bungalow, and 3 nights in an Overwater Bungalow, which gave us 2 different perspectives for the holiday.

The beauty of Bora Bora, and the Hilton resort is really beyond words. Everywhere it looks like a postcard, and swimming in the warm crystal clear waters is really a treat.

The rooms are well equipped, the bathrooms are huge, and the bed is comfortable. As everyone else has said, catch the ferry across to the main land to grab some supplies from the local supermarket. There's not a lot of room in the mini-bar fridge (and knocking the items seems to trigger a sensor that puts them on your bill), but there's room for a bottle of wine and a few beers. Check your bill at the end, as the staff are more than willing to help with items you haven't actually used from the mini-bar.

I thought the food was quite good. I was worried initially that the selection would get a little boring staying within the resort, but make sure you make some bookings at Iriatai as the food up there is very good, and the Upa Upa restaurant with the traditional Polynesian fare is also a very good dining experience. If you are on a 'meal plan' (we had breakfast and dinner) then you can just pay a supplement for the expensive dishes, which wasn't a problem.

Drinks weren't any more expensive than in a bar in Australia, so I was pleasantly surprised.

There are a number of free activities, we used the kayaks and the stand up paddle board. Also, make sure you make a booking for the Hobie Cat to go and see the reef.

Jet Ski was the only paid activity we booked, it is a 2 hour tour of the whole Bora Bora island. You get to see out on the reef, and see where all of the other resorts are located. We only visited the Hilton resort while we were there, but compared to the rest it is in an excellent location.

The staff were great, we had no issues throughout the whole stay, as it seemed all of the staff, especially the Polynesian staff were just there to help you enjoy your Polynesian experience.

Overall, it was a magical trip, and I for one can't wait to go back one day!

We went for our honeymoon from april 18-24th. Everyone was always so helpful and polite. We knew this would be a once in a lifetime experience. The views are beautiful , the hotel was very nice. Things are expensive in bora so the food and hotel rate were high. They were always willing to help us out with anything we needed and you even had shuttle that would take you and pick you up from town. The only thing that I didnt like was the selection of food from the menus my wife is a vegan and they didnt have much choices for her. One thing for everyone to know is that there is a free shuttle to take you from bora bora airport to vapatee then another shuttle from the hotel pick you up at the dock which the hotel might charge you for. but its way cheaper than paying for the hotels airport shuttle. We did try some activities jet ski and jeep safari. Jet ski we loved And jeep safari scared the daylights of my wife but I loved it. It ws just the ride down the steep mountain trail on dirt roads and got her scared. All were booked directly from the hotel. The hotel has lots of activites for free everyday which are nice the only thing that I wish they had more of were shows. I think they had one the whole week we were there. I would def go again if I was to come back.

Room Tip: I had room 317 which was quite but couldnt see the sunset views. It was close to the "kardasha...

Together with my girlfriend we decided to escape the winter of the northeast of the United States and take a vacation in Bora Bora in February.
We had seen the pictures of the water and the look of the property and while understandably we had great expectations, they were completly blown out: we had a vacation of a life time.
The location puts you in contact with nature as only a few other places around the world can but what made it even more special were all the attentions of the hotel staff.
We are used to have great Customer Service traveling across the globe but sometime, while being completly satisfied with the service provided, you feel like people is acting on a "script".
This was not the case at the Hilton Bora Bora: everybody in the hotel, without apparent effort, wants to make you feel special and they succeed: they made a perfect natural location become a true paradise.
As side notes: we are great cousine lovers and we did not expect being on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to be able to have exceptional culinearie experiences but we actually did. The restaurants at the resort are all very good and the Polinesian one truly stands out. Of the ones on the main island, we would suggest "La Villa Mahana", a true 5 stars restaurant but would not reccomend "Bloody Mary's".
Lastly there were of course a lot of couples in honeymoon there (and I actually proposed to my girlfriend on Valentine's Day on the Hilton private island of Motu Potu - a treat by itself) but I would reccomend this resort to anybody (and actually there were a few families with chidren): you will have a vacation of a lifetime.
We look forward to be back
