I spent a week away in beautiful Dalyan with friends, staying at Melanie's lovely whitewashed villa- the perfect place to unwind and relax. The villa itself is very well kept, tastefully furnished and super cozy, with all the mod cons you need. The swimming pool area and hammock was perfect for spending lazy days in the sunshine with a good book or playing card games.
The town itself is charming and lively, the locals friendly and chatty, always offering tips for things to do. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, all offering inexpensive and incredibly tasty Turkish food. The market on a Saturday is good fun chatting with local sellers tempting you with all the fresh produce and more!
However, the main highlights are definitely Iztuzu beach and Dalyan River. The area is a protected nature reserve, much less developed than some of the other tourist areas nearby so it never feels crowded (make sure you visit the turtle sanctuary!). We took the public boat from the town centre to the beach, taking in the beautiful ancient Lycian tombs carved into the cliff above and also visited the ancient Kaunos ruins. Other must do's are Apo's amazing night river cruise, a trip to the local hamman and renting bikes to cycle round the lake (with frequent breaks for freshly squeezed pomegranate and orange juice of course!).
The perfect place for to relax and unwind - you won't be disappointed!

I stayed in the villa with a groups of friends over Easter this year, and we had a great time. The villa is absolutely lovely - decorated in warm cosy colours, with lots of Turkish decorations such as rugs and paintings. The villa sleeps lots of people, but still feels very cute and cosy. The pool is stunning and unusually big for a property of this size, and the garden is lovely for relaxing and eating outside - full of trees, with two tables, two seating areas and sun loungers. The villa is also very well-equipped (we had everything we needed in terms of kitchen equipment, etc.) and there has been lots of attention to detail in furnishing the house. It's a short walk to the town centre, which makes it great for eating out in all of the lovely restaurants, and Dalyan is absolutely gorgeous - with the river which runs through the town, the lake, and the beach, all surrounded by mountains. There was also loads to do. We had a hammam, visited the ruins of the ancient city over the river, saw the huge turtles in the turtle sanctuary, had a barbeque on a boat on the lake (and swam in the lake!), bought fruit and vegetables at the marker and hired bikes for one day to explore the country-side. Very much recommended!
The villa definitely lived up to our expectations! It had a lovely traditional feel to it and was very clean and well presented. The rooms were cool and comfortable. The area outside the villa was also lovely - there were small trees which provided lots of shade from the intense summer heat! The pool is a good size and perfect for cooling down in. Melanie herself was very quick to respond to any questions I had before travelling, and when in Dalyan itself Dondu the villa manager was also on hand. She was very friendly and helpful in arranging taxis and giving us information about the local area. We would definitely stay here again!

Four of us stayed at this well-equipped, gorgeous villa just a 10 minute walk from the town. We thought the pictures on here were great but the place itself really comes to life. The garden is very spacious with grapes hanging from the vine at the back. The pool provided the perfect escape from the midday heat and the villa itself was cool, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We found that this villa gave us a real escape. It was just so quiet and peaceful. The villa manager was friendly and so helpful in arranging trips and taxis for us but most importantly, all the food and excursion recommendations in the villa guide, written by the owner, all stood up to the test and made our week in Dalyan unforgettable! We will definitely return.
