If you want to sleep before 3am, DO NOT BOOK CASA CASBAH.
As all the other reviews rightly say, Casa Casbah is a stunning villa with lush green gardens and large grounds and a refreshing pool, and the villa staff are polite albeit inexperienced - but none of this matters when you CANNOT SLEEP or ENJOY the villa due to NOISE LEVELS from OUTDOOR NIGHTCLUBS with LIVE BANDS and DJs from 6pm to 2.30am; the noise is completely UNBEARABLE!
For full transparency we did read there would be 'noise from surrounding temples and bars' but to compare the gentle noise of Balinese temples with the noise of a ticketed LIVE OUTDOOR ROCK BAND and party revellers; PLUS a SECOND OUTDOOR BAR with woofer/ base BOTH RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the villa is not only ridiculous but completely misleading.
We booked very clearly as a family of 9 - including 5 children under 10, and an elderly grandparent - we were obviously not there to party - that was clear; so to not be warned that we were LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT DOOR to TWO very popular and frequented LOUD nightclubs that do not close until 2-3am EVERY NIGHT is completely unacceptable. We could not sleep for 2 nights, waiting for the nightclubs to close - the noise comes right through the walls, even with Bose noise cancelling headphones and all doors and windows shut the base vibrates through the floors - we recorded 70+decibels in the bedrooms with doors closed at 1am in the morning.
Even though we were refused a refund by the owner we could not stay another night with this shocking level of noise - so we cancelled our stay at a huge loss and great inconvenience, and found other accommodation that allowed us all the simple luxury of sleep.
Sleep is the most precious commodity – when it is taken away from you on holiday it doesn’t matter about how pretty a villa is, or how lush the garden is - if you want to sleep on your next holiday to Bali do not book Casa Casbah.
Extra note: Interesting to read other reviews dated 2018 - we wondered why they don't complain about noise - perhaps back then Old Mans was still a surfy bar popular for a sunset drink after a day's surfing, as it was the last time we were there in 2016 - note: is now a FULL FLEDGED OUTDOOR MUSIC VENUE with ticketed events that close at 2-3am!!! It is not a BAR at all - and there is now another live music CLUB right next door with LOUD MUSIC /DJ and base until 2-3am as well!

Perfect villa for us. 2 families with teenage kids. The kids surfed out the front all day and we lounged by the pool.
Oldmans on our doorstep for sundowners and Deus up the road for the kids to party at ! Very cool contemporary villa in an excellent spot.

Being bali regulars we like to try different villas and locations...we have rebooked casbah for next year we loved it so much. Being right in the thick of everything you can hear a little music but it wasn’t a problem and it was not offensively loud. We know Bali well enough to understand that whether in Seminyak or Canggu if you want to be that well located to enable you to ditch the car or scooter you won’t have complete silence at all times... staff were lovely, villa was clean and so comfortable and we couldn’t have been closer to the beach anywhere else!

Casa Casbah is in a perfect position, just a short walk from some of the most popular spots on Batu Bolong. Crate cafe a favourite for your morning coffee and sunset drinks at The Lawn . The staff are very polite and friendly and most helpful with any request you might have . This was our second stay and we will definitely stay again.
