Wonderful atmosphere, very pleasant dining. Plan to spend some time browsing the best bookstore on the peninsula before deciding what to enjoy at the cafe.

This is a tiny cozy sandwich place tucked in a tiny building and sharing space with other totally unrelated shops. Just reading the menu makes you feel healthy. They cook from scratch; they use real ingredients. My fresh salad set me up for the rest of the day and I managed not to be seduced by the dessert menu but I recommend you not exercise the same restraint.

I come to Alaska every year and grab lunch at this awesome little sandwich shop. The Ruben is amazing!

I stop at Fine Thyme for lunch when driving between Homer and Anchorage and vice versa. This restaurant consistently delivers good food. There's several things I like: they make their broths for their soups from scratch - they don't use bullion or packaged broth. They make their salad dressings from scratch. The chipotle ranch is excellent. They make a fine Reuben. Soups are consistently good. Their Russian Creme dessert is pretty delectable and gluten-free. They bake their own bread, and when I was there yesterday morning, the smell of fresh-baked bread was heavenly. They have a kitchen garden out back. If you are a regular, you are greeted like a friend.
My husband, who likes a plate piled high, might find their portion sizes a bit on the smaller side, but I like that because I don't overeat.
I'll keep coming back while the food and service remains this good.

Great service from the owner. Happy staff and customers. You can tell the care about quality ingredients and experience. Blt and then some. Great homemade soup and sandwiches. Desert list was broad. Lemon cream pie was very rich! All from scratch.
