We got in early on the Alaska ferry and Jose made every effort to get us in our room quickly. After returning from a nice breakfast at the New York Cafe, he had already carried our bags up to the room and offered to take us up to Herring Cove to see the bears catching salmon. Nice room in the old hotel overlooking Stedman St and the bay. Very clean and well appointed. Our traveling companions had a very nice 2nd floor apartment overlooking the creek above the Captain's Lady Boutique next to Dolly's complete with washer & dryer. Jose took us back to the ferry terminal when we left and refused any tip. Can't say enough about the customer service. Perfect location, 5 minute or less walk to downtown area and wharves. Make sure to take the funicular (right on Creek Street) up to Cape Fox lodge for a great meal with spectacular views.
