On TripAdvisor it states to call for a better deal. Upon calling, she gave the same price and when I asked about the TripAdvisor ad she said “nope, that is the price (which was the exact same as listed online) “take it or leave it” and “good luck”. This is false advertising.

Sarah Mathews,
I have to stick up for my “crew”. You were rude, mean and pushy; demanding an $80 winter rate; no false advertising here; our rates are clearly different winter verses summer; however, our summer rates are some of the best in town. When we tried to be helpful and offer other options you became angry and did not stay with us.

We are a small family business with a mission to be nice to everyone, work hard, tell the truth and tell it fast. We happily serve others everyday; its part of who we are and what we do. Our crew applied this well with you; they were nice to you, when you were not; they went above and beyond and offered other lodging options here and elsewhere that might have been a better fit for you when you were angry. You twisted their efforts into something else. I would offer an apology and see what we could do to make it right; but in this rare instance because you were rude and mean to this hard-working staff; I just have to forgive your mean spirited review and wish you well.

I hope other potential guests who may read this review and others will see what really happened here. We would have loved to have made Sarah's day a happy one. Please know that our team is here for our guests and we value your business.
Humbly,
The Driftwood Inn, Innkeeper

We were very happy with the stay at the Driftwood. We stayed in a huge house that had rooms. We had an awesome view of the water and the mountains. The grounds were immaculate and so was the house. Would recommend it to anyone!!

Long time Alaskan. My family would stay long weekends at the Driftwood when I was a little girl and now I bring my family here. It’s so easy and a great location. Prices are always decent. Love the Driftwood Inn.

Dear Jannine, Thank you for being a loyal guest at the Driftwood Inn all these years. We love that so many of our guests are local Alaskans that stay with us year round; its a big reason that so many of our visitors love to stay with us and visit with people like you. Thanks for taking the time; it means a great deal to this family owned business. See you next time:)

This was very pleasant, reasonably priced place to stay. We stayed upstairs, where the bathrooms are shared (i.e., down the hall). Not a problem. Rooms were small, which was also not a problem b/c we were out fishing all day and exhausted at night. We hung out on the back porch one afternoon to relax w/ some beers, also relaxed in the living room. We really enjoyed our stay.

Hi Krista! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience about our small European Style rooms. They are definitely on the economy side compared to our more expensive spacious rooms. So happy to hear that you slept well and got out during the day for some good fishing. We really appreciate the positive feedback. Thank you so much!

Booked two nights in the tiny house and when we checked in we were upgraded to one of the new coach house rooms. It was a great surprise. The room was spacious and new. Comfortable bed and plenty of room. The staff made us feel like family and were willing to give all the local input you could want. I highly recommend you staying here.
