What a spectacular view, even during the winter months! We could see Kachemak Bay and the Homer Spit from our patio!! The rooms are large with nice beds and a good sized bathroom. There is a small fridge and microwave also. I recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Homer!

We booked our June, 2017 stay at this facility in November, 2016. At that time we were guaranteed a beach front room - GUARANTEED! We arrived and were stuck in the worst possible room at the farthest point of the back row. We were told, "sorry, but the mistake was made and to fix it we'd have to downgrade someone else". We had two rooms and the manager refused to move us to what they promised. REFUSED! We did, however, speak to some residents of the beach front rooms who said they just booked a week ago AND the cruise line bus brought some people as well so you know they reserved after us as well. Didn't make sense. I do want to say, however, that after I insisted the manager gave us the rooms at half price but I think their inability to back up their promise was extremely bad business practice. The rooms were extremely dated but clean. The location (front row) was extraordinary. Caution when booking, however!

It was an AWESOME place to stay with an AMAZING VIEW! You can really feel the down to earth Alaskan vibes while staying. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were clean! My family and I will definitely be staying here when we come through Homer again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

My wife and I were ready to take a break from Anchorage (Lived their 35 years) and do a road trip to Homer. We had not been their in years and were excited for the drive, as we are originally from the Cape Cod, MA. area and love Homer. Finding the Ocean Shores through a neighbors recommendation was fortunate! The staff was incredibly friendly, the room clean and cozy, and the sunset from our room deck priceless!! Disappointed Halibut Cove had closed but great fun walking the beach, hiking , and relaxing.

Room Tip: Almost all the rooms have great views but ask front desk staff

We have lived in Homer for 25 years and have a view of Kachemak Bay from our home. Due to renovation at our home we needed a place to stay for a night. Ocean Shores was our first choice. One of the only places in town truly "on the beach". Also, its affordable, and right in town, which to a local is important. We took one of our favorite walks when we woke up, down the foot path and along Bishops Beach to our favorite breakfast bakery, Two Sisters. Micheal the owner is a gem and we rested very well that night!

Room Tip: Oceanfront rooms are hard to beat.

Thank you for the great review. The rooms at Ocean Shores are clean and comfortable. When you combine that with the amazing view you just can't go wrong. We appreciate locals staying with us. Best Regards, Pam G.
