From the first friendly greeting at the airport to the daily interactions with the staff, this has been a truly unique experience; and hopefully the first of many to the Cook Islands. Island night on Thursdays is a real treat. As is the snorkeling and fishing around the island.

Our beach/garden bungalow was steps away from the water. Lovely big bed, airconditioned and fully screened against insects. These however, only came out after dark and really were not a great bother. Take insect spray for evenings.
The bathroom was large and serviced every day. It connected to an outside private shower which we used everyday coming up from the beach. It was fabulous. The outside laundry line was also practical and most helpful. The walk in robe area doubled as a small kitchenette and was very practical for a cuppa and large fridge with a constant supply of cold drinking water was greatly appreciated. The balcony area had a table and chairs which we put to good use all day long and long into the evening. Watching the sunset was a real treat. The outside lounge for daytime relaxing was a nice touch. All the staff we met at the resort were helpful and happy to help. Cook Islanders from our experience are a happy and family orientated culture, a delightful change to life in the fast lane.

Room Tip: Try for the garden bungalows closer to the lagoon, you get great views.

Kia Orana,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am so pleased you enjoyed the outdoor showers we will eventually add these to all of our bungalows (plus indoor shower too). We grew up with outdoor showers they were fun except for those rainy nights. we are constantly adding small touches to increase our guests comfort levels...next time you come back I should have hung colourful "hang-out" hammocks on each balcony.

Thanks again,
Nick

We taped in a beach front room, with fantastic balcony overlooking the beach and lagoon. Excellent facilities in the room, with adjoining inside and outside showers. Faultless room servicing. The reception staff were very welcoming, greeted us with garlands of flowers and were very helpful and happy. The restaurant provided a great breakfast every day as well as good evening meals. The staff even provide me with chilled water and a mosquito smoke ring when they saw me working on my iPad, even though I wasn't in the restaurant at the time. This hotel set the standard for us, sadly, not all hotels on the Islands were able to match this one. I would certainly recommend it and would choose to stay here again. The hotel also provided free of charge kayaks and paddle boards for use on the lagoon

Room Tip: Room 112 is fantastic in that it is right on the beach

Kia orana

Thanks for the glowing review.

I have passed this on to our team as an encouragement for them to keep being attentive to our Islands visitors and locals alike. Most of the time we enjoy what we do and I have made an effort for our team at Tamanu Beach to understand that part of their "work" is to enjoy a conversation with our guests.

Hope to see you back in Aitutaki in the near future,
meitaki atupaka,
Nick

We promptly got greeted and presented with a beautiful Flower-Ei, by a wonderful lady (Nane I believe), which transported us to the Resort.
We stayed in a Lagoon View room and loved it! Very close to the beach & pool, and very nicely decorated.
We ate at the restaurant every day (we both love seafood), were the food was excellent every time and so was the local beer!
Breakfast was plenty with the yummy island donuts, good coffee, fresh fruit and many more choices. The antics of the chickens and kitties made for a laugh each time!

DO NOT MISS ISLAND NIGHT!!! The dancing was beautiful and the food outstanding, there were so many different dishes, I did try each single one and can honestly say there was not one I did not like!
The service was great all around and everybody was so welcoming and friendly.
Nick, the manager, took some time to share some of the interesting island history and traditions with everybody.

The beach has great snorkling, with lots of fish to see. We took the kayaks and paddled out to the giant clam, which was very interesting to see!
It was lots of fun to drive around the island with the scooter that we rented for a day (from the Resort) - we went to a view point, which overlooked the beautiful lagoon, did some pareu shopping at the Maina store in town for local products, then stopped by at T & S ArtworkX, were we did some shopping from a selection of very reasonable priced Cook Island Pearl Jewellery, recycled glass jewellery & Ukuleles.

The lagoon tour was awesome! We booked with Silent Lagoon Charters/Mona's Water taxi, they offer ½ day tours, because we did only have 2 full days on Aitutaki and wanted to use one day just to relax!
The weather was so nice and the water so warm, just all around an excellent holiday!
We will be back!

Thanks for the review!

Aunty NANE is magic - she represents our Island with the warmest smile and laughter.

At Tamanu Beach - Our breakfast buffet is supposed to be Island tropical style - thus the (local fresh fruits and Island doughnuts we buy daily from one of our family - please eat more of them otherwise the staff and I have the donuts for morning tea.

I am so thrilled that you got to experience so many of our local island tours - this is the real flavour of Aitutaki

Please come back soon.

Nick

A 3 night stay to finish off my third trip to the islands and it was amazing. Certainly one of the best places to stay on Aitutaki.

Casual luxury is what it is touted as and this is the perfect description. Extremely friendly and attentive staff, beautiful villas, delicious food, two gorgeous swimming pools and magnificent sunsets. What more could one need or want?

Extra special thanks to Toha (please forgive me if I have her name wrong) at the front desk, who welcomed us so warmly and then made sure we had our ‘Aitutaki Boarding Pass’ (flower lei) when we left. Thank you!

Special thanks also to manager Nick Henry and his family for the cocktail party on the Wednesday night (coincidentally our last night). It was great to mingle with other guests and see how much pride you have in your beautiful resort. We can’t wait to come back!
