Aitu home stay was fantastic and Marshall was an awesome host. Food was too notch for every meal and his knowledge of the island was great. Loved his island tours into the local caves. Coconuts were supplied to take on beach walks loved every minute there. Its a great unspoilt island made all the more enjoyable staying at Aitu home stay.

We stayed with Marshall for 4 nights recently, and it was a great time. The house is excellent - much higher quality and finish than you'd expect on Atiu, where everything has to be freighted in at great expense. Our room was very comfortable, and exceptionally clean when we arrived.

Bathroom facilities are shared between 4 bedrooms, but this didn't present us any issues - there are 2 toilets and one shower.

Kitchen is functional and has everything you'd need to prepare your own meals if needed. Marshall is also happy to cook for you, although we didn't do this. He is also very happy to let you have little things from the fridge - a bit of sauce here, or some spices etc there.

Breakfast is included and is fantastic! Cereal, milk, fruit, toast, coconut, coffee, tea etc. Bananas are available all the time for snacks.

The house has heaps of couches and places to sit to read or relax. Marshall also has bikes (brand new) and a scooter or truck to rent at reasonable rates.

Best part of the stay though is the opportunity to talk to Marshall and get his insight on island life, good things to do, places to eat, stories and laughs.

Also Marshalls bird cave tour is a must! The best tour on the island I'd say. Very interesting and fun. Not for the faint-hearted or unsteady-of-foot, but well worth the afternoon.

We stayed for four nights at the Atiu home stay. Jeanne was away but Marshall more than made up for it by being an attentive host, sensitive to our individual needs and privacy. He was also a fund of knowledge about the island. I brought some of Jeanne's lovely art works available in the sitting room. The bedroom was quiet small but we were welcome to use the rest of their spacious, comfortable home. The bed we slept in was excellent with good linen. I spent an afternoon on a deck chair on the deck and wandering in the lovely grounds. They have bikes you can hire to cycle around the island's many roads.

We also went on a tour to the bird caves with Marshall. The short hike to the caves required some concentration to walk over the coral track. We were rewarded by a beautiful if slightly tricky walk (some of the surfaces were wet at that time) through the cave system with its breath taking stalactites and the amazing bird the kopeka which flies in total darkness.

We cannot wait to return. It was a warm Atuian welcome from start to finish.

We had a great stay at Atiu homestay. You share the house with the owner (Marshall) and other guests (if there are any, we were alone). The house is big, very clean and comfortable. The included breakfast is great, with fresh fruit of the season, toast and more. Marshall is a very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and talkative host and we learned a lot about Atiu and the Cook Islands in general. He also does many of the tours on the ighland and they are very informative and highly recommendable. Cant go wrong at this great place and island!

We stayed with Marshall for 5 nights back in April and experienced great hospitality, comfortable accommodation and great food. You feel a long way from home in Atiu but what an amazing island it is. We hired a scooter from Marshall for the length of our stay, and happily explored the island and beaches. During our stay, we also went on the Cave Tour and Island Tour that Marshall runs - both were fascinating insights into the island life and history and I highly recommend. We take away with us great memories and the island of Atiu gave us a real sense of adventure.
