We stayed at Raiatea Lodge 5/8-5/11 2011. The lodge itself was great. Our hosts were welcoming and very accomodating. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable. We did not eat dinner at the restaurant, but we did have breakfast each morning and ordered appetizers and dessert in the evening, all of which were very good.
The only issue I had with Raiatea Lodge is that it is located a considerable distance from the shopping area. In order to get there, you can ride one of the hotel's bicycles (free), get a taxi (about $18 US), or rent a car (about $80 US). Don't bother with the river kayak trip unless you're really bored, but definately take advantage of the free snorkeling across the road from the lodge. The two local restaurants located near the marina have good food, but VERY expensive. A great tip - try Napoli's Pizza located between the Lodge and the airport...some of the best pizza I've ever had! It looks like a hole in the wall from outside, but very nice restaurant inside.

Stayed with the charming Oliver & Karine prior to picking up a boat in Raiatea. Sadly we only stayed for three nights, had we known beforehand how wonderful Raiatea Lodge is we would have undoubtedly stayed longer.

The bedrooms are clean & comfortable with balconies that look out over the glorious garden towards the lagoon, the open air lounge/reception area wonderfully relaxed. Very importantly, the food served in the restaurant was superb.

We felt so welcome and well looked after in this small, intimate hotel we cannot wait to return. Oliver and Karine are truly generous and thoughtful hosts.

If go to Raiatea this hotel is very good option. Raiatea is good to see around the island as well as taking trip to nearby Tahaa and surrounding Motu's. Laurent - Hotel owner - is at hand to advice you best "to do's" there. Myself would recommend Olivier's one day trip by ship to Tahaa and his private Motu - paradise(!). As soon as can will be back there. Olivier may show you spots which you may not see elsewhere in Polynesia (incl. Bora Bora). Hotel itself provides you to spend pleasantly the rest of day after comprehensive daily program. Its cuisine is fameux as well as the whole atmosphere there.

My wife Mary and I are regulars to Raiatea and we always stay at Raiatea Lodge because the hospitality of the owners honestly feels like we are staying in our own home. The rooms are very fashionably appointed, the food is excellent, the lobby is a huge open-air terrace looking out to the Sunset. However, the key to this place is the incredible service of the owners and staff. We had previously stayed at Hawaiki Nui a few times several years ago. This was our 5th stay at Raiatea Lodge. We are now building a vacation home on Raiatea but will always consider Raiatea Lodge our home as well and recommend it highly. Also, if you do stay at Raiatea Lodge, make sure to take advantage of the morning snorkeling and evening kayaking right off of the hotel dock.

We stayed here for two nights and were welcomed but the charmingly funny Olivier and we met the lovely Karine a little later. Welcomed with a fruit cocktail and then we discussed the options for all the activities we could partake in whilst here. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to experience the Kayaks or the bikes (which we would have loved to do) and their hire car was booked out, so Karine organised one from town. The rooms were comfortable with balconies (a nice touch was all the welcome flowers) and the food was simply divine and the staff were great. A very relaxing place and I would recommend more than a 2 night stay (we had a yacht charter, so were busy with provisions & didn't get much relax time). I would definitely recommend booking the car in advance to get around the island & have Olivier or Karine organise a Pearl Farm tour. We did one with Anapa Pearl whilst out sailing which was so amazingly informative. Stay here if you visit Raiatea - you will not be disappointed.
