Need a place to stop for the night with your rv along the Glenn Highway. Pinnacle is your place. It has all the things you might need and Jill is such a wonderful hostess. You can even buy here Alpaca weavings in the cafe.

This RV park and cafe had been recommended to us by friends who live not far from here. The food was great, breakfast for dinner is always a winner for us, so it was great that everything on the menu was available for us to choose from. Our coffee cups stayed full as well. We were the only customers at the time (around 3 pm) and Jill was able to join us while she ate her lunch as well. Of course we had a wonderful conversation. As soon as other customers came in, she was up and taking care of business. We are staying in the RV park for a couple of nights. Took our time and walked around the tractors and of course went down and saw the animals. It is worth the stop!

This roadside cafe is way more than that. A quick stop, even for a piece of Jill's incredible made-on-site pie can take a while. But you'd have to understand...

They have what is believed to be the largest display of tractors of various vintages in the state. And implements. And stationary engines. And antique agricultural and industrial equipment and implements. There are no less than 38 tractors including many similar to what I operated while growing up. And, I believe, all of them on display run! There are some 'not on display' but visible that still need to be fixed but...most of the will start and run.

And the food's not bad either. Jill, proprietor for many years, takes care of the kitchen duties. She's an expert pie and fudge maker and has - believe it or not - sugar-free pies, to include pecan. The availability varies by day as the menu changes, or the 'favorites' simply disappear in a setting, but if you're lucky enough to get a piece you'll want to return for more. The other menu items include one of my favorites - Valley Trash Omelet. She's got good burgers, fries and other food there too.

The lodge also has a bit of a 'quick-stop' for supplies, a laundry, showers, video's for rent and fresh eggs. I don't remember how much livestock there is around the place but, suffice to say, your viewing and gawking urges will be fulfilled.

When traveling the Glenn and going through Chickaloon...stop and take a look. Sit down for a spell or wander around. You can fill your belly, satisfy your curiosity about antique equipment, and see a bunch of animals.

Oh, and check out 'Boot Hill,' the real one.
