We've eaten at this beautiful restaurant in the Alta hotel several times for both breakfast and dinner. Most of these meals have been among the best eaten anywhere. Unfortunately, our last dinner experience did not quite live up to previous visits.
We ate with our adult sons and dinner started off well enough. As other reviewers have mentioned, service is very slow, but this is a white tablecloth restaurant, so I do not expect to be rushed. However, this stretched just a little too far. Our waiter would disappear and someone else would come out to attend to us. Dinner was very good (we had fish and lamb chops at our table), but the fish was served with the sauce on the plate as a garnish, with nothing on it, and it was slightly overcooked. The guys enjoyed their lamb.
We did not stay on for dessert as a large party was seated next to us and one of the patrons was wearing excessive cologne which caused my husband to feel ill. When my husband said something to the waiter, I don't know if he didn't understand or didn't know how to handle the situation. As the rest of the restaurant was practically empty, I'm not sure why were were seated on top of each other.
Breakfasts were good, but although the food was essentially the same each day, it looked slightly different. I wonder if the waiters plate their own food? Unfortunately, our favorite waiter, George (who has been there for years) was off when we dined there. He was there upon our arrival for wine and tapas and everything was superb! We missed him the rest of our stay.
