Our large extended family took the Planet Dolphin Sunset Cruise on the Tom Cat. Although it can hold 150, there were only about 50 aboard which made for a nice experience. The boat is clean and has bathroom facilities. We cruised along the coastline seeing the gorgeous beaches ringed in jungle. When we headed out to sea we had dolphins frolicking along, to the delight of all. The snorkeling consisted of everyone congregating around a designated marker but there were lots of colorful fish there. Food and drinks were plentiful and included, although nothing special. The real highlight of the trip was the sunset! Watching that orange globe disappear into the ocean was magical. Overall it was a nice afternoon on the water and our family gave it 11 thumbs up.
P.S. I’ve been known to get seasick but I’m happy to report the TomCat was smooth sailing and no one had a problem.

This boat tour was very average. Snorkeling took place in an area that was way too small for the number of people, and they started using the slides at the same time so people were constantly at risk of crashing into each other. The lunch served was good, and the drinks were ok. Nothing to write home about. If you're looking for a more "party" atmosphere the ocean king looked really fun.

I have done many snorkeling/catamaran tours all over the world and would have to say this one was fine, but nothing special. You boat for about an hour, to find a pod of dolphins, which was cool. After seeing dolphins they take you to an area with some mediocre snorkeling. There were a few fish, but nothing out of the ordinary. On other trips like this there have been crew members in the water with you guiding you about where to go, and pointing out specific finds, but not this trip. They just gave you the snorkeling gear, told you to jump into the water, and pointed toward the general direction where the snorkeling was. After snorkeling, you come back in the boat and can go down a water slide off the back of the boat. Several members of our party did this, and they all got injured, as the slide had some wear to it, which resulted in a rough ride.

Finally, they serve you lunch. I don’t think anyone is our party was impressed with the lunch. Some dried out fish kebabs and pasta salad. For those in our party who do not eat fish, it was a long day without food. Luckily they keep saltines handy for those who get seasick, so at least two people from our party subsisted on saltines for the day.

Pros: it’s always nice to be on the water on a beautiful day! Dolphins are always fun to see! I think I’d try to find a different company if I visited again, though.
