WOW! The Gaia hotel was so fantastic! A small luxury hotel, adult only, with only 20 rooms, we felt like it was our own private place! As an anniversary trip, we were happy to find this Costa Rican jewel for a great deal on Travelzoo's website. Beautifully comfortable rooms with amazing views of the rainforest and ocean. The staff were phenomenal and made us feel like royalty! After our first night, the staff at breakfast knew our names and greeted us warmly upon arrival. The hotel owners take a personal approach to the hotel's hospitality as they were on site while we were there, introduced themselves, and asked us how we were liking our stay. The concierge was helpful in booking our white water rafting tour and massages. The hot stone massage and Swedish massages were fantastic! The food at the hotel's restaurant was some of the best we've ever had. Be sure to ask about their complimentary cooking class from the restaurant's chef as well! Don't miss the restaurant's happy hour for delicious 2 for 1 drinks and tapas while watching gorgeous sunsets, a view unlike any other, and live music. Overall, this was the best hotel stay we've ever had! A definite highlight of Costa Rica!

The entire family of Gaia is certainly thrilled with your review here Ashley. We truly enjoyed having you and your husband on our property and welcome you back some time in the future to celebrate yet another anniversary.
In fact, we have many guests that return year after year. And that is since we opened 6 years ago this month.

My husband and I stayed at Gaia for 4 nights with another couple for a spur of the moment trip when we found local deals through Travelzoo. Since the hotel is built on a hill, we were transferred to the reception area on golf carts. The 2-bedroom villa we stayed in offered amazing views of the property and surrounding areas. The master bedroom was spacious and airy but the second bedroom was on the small side. Gaia staff were friendly and helpful in making reservations and booking spa appointments. The pools were out-of-this-world gorgeous, 3 infinity pools and not very crowded, I felt like we were the only guests there most of the time. We each received 2 spa treatments during our stay and the massages were among the best I've had. The spa was able to commentate us for couple' massages since we booked few days ahead of time. We ordered room service for our breakfasts the night before and everything was delivered promptly to our room the next morning (best decision ever). Food lovers, make sure you order the Costa Rican Breakfast and/or Huevos Rancheros, you won't be sorry!!! Overall, Gaia was the best part of our Costa Rican vacation and I highly recommend it to vacationers and honeymooners.

Room Tip: We stayed at the 2-bedroom villa #311, very close to the reception and offered great views

I want to thank our recent guest from California for their very kind review of Gaia Hotel & Reserve. Indeed, our two bedroom/two bath villa is fabulous for two couples or even more as the accommodations in this unit can occupy 8 persons utilizing the pull out sofas in the sunken living room.
Breakfast is served either in our La Luna Restaurant overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean or as our guests opted for, complimentary room service.
We truly enjoyed having you on our property and hope to see you again for an impromptu visit. We are all here for you.

The Gaia's biggest asset and draw is their incredible staff. The Gaia is a small boutique hotel, and the staff learn to recognize the guest by sight and name. Our personal concierge, Andres, was fantastic. He arranged activities and tours for us with nothing but professional outfits, making for a magical and hassle-free honeymoon for me and my wife. The rooms are excellent and the grounds are a unique draw, making the hotel feel remote even though you are in close proximity to many other restaurants and attractions.

Room Tip: This is a boutique hotel with a range of room options. We loved our room, which was at the lowest...

I've said it before here on this TripAdvisor forum that our staff are our best kept secret. And we thank you for making special mention of that here.
Having a personal concierge to take care of all your needs no matter how big or small is a very special experience in any hotel but especially for first time guests in Costa Rica. Most of our guests are experiencing Costa Rica for the first time and we appreciate that they must rely on our local staff to guide them in the right direction to fulfill their magical expectations.
We do indeed create magic here at Gaia and it is only achieved with the hard work of our concierge desk who work tirelessly with our guests to create an experience of a lifetime.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful thoughts here on this TripAdvisor forum.

Can't imagine a negative review. Owners: super friendly, helpful. Staff: nice and informative as could possibly be. Suite: clean and well designed with an amazing bed. Pool: amazing. Food: terrific and fresh.

No it's not the cheapest place but the quality was top notch.

Some people might prefer a location closer to the park or to the beach I liked the location. It has its own private reserve you can explore.

The area is great lots to do, raft hike, zip line etc. Take a drive down the coast if you want to get out of the bustle of the area.

Great trip.

Nothing is too complicated for our staff to ensure our guests have the very best of all that Gaia has to offer. And there is certainly plenty to experience.

my wife and I spent out 1 year anniversary in Costa Rica. We went to the Gaia hotel for a massage and the masseuse was amazing. One of the best massages I have every had in my life. He knew exactly where to press and adjusted the massage accordingly to my body. I did not have to say anything. He actually told me all kinds of things he noticed about me just from the massage. I would recommend anyone looking for the most relaxing time possible to get a massage at Gaia from Juan Carols.

Thank you for your recent visit to our Terra Spa. Indeed, Juan Carlos is amazing as are the rest of the staff at the Spa. Trained in India and various other locations, Juan Carlos takes the experience of a massage to the next level.
Sensitivity and awareness of his client's emotion and needs are paramount to a great massage and he achieves this with senselessness.
We welcome you back to renew your experience and thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with others here on this TripAdvisor forum.
