VERY close to the national park, easy walk to the beach, where you can borrow fun beach toys from la posada! big room that is very comfortable. Good food on site with many options to walk to as well. The pool was nice and we had some friendly animal visitors as well.

Room Tip: not all of the rooms come with hammocks on the patio

We stayed four nights in the La Posada Jungle Lodge. It is a very basic accomondation. They offer a small brakefast from 7 to 9:45. Three out of the four times the coffee, juice and fruits were already empty at 9 o'clock when we came. The pool couldn’t be used by us (neither did we see someone else using it) because of the amount of chlorine they put in it. The rooms had a terrible smell of moist. The bathroom is seprerated by only a small wood door and has only small windows which don't have mosquito nets and therefore can't be openened when showering at night. All our stuff was wet all the time and when we packed our bags we saw that most of it had mold on it. Back home still everything smells terrible.
The rooms need a better ventilation, a propper bathroom door and windows which can be openened.
The hotel is nothing special and the price is too high for the quality you get.

First the good things. This hotel is just a few feet away from the entrance to the national park so it is very conveniently located. Huge shout out and acknowledgement to the staff-especially Roger Calvo. This guy did EVERYTHING! He managed the front desk, covered the bar, took your order, brought your food, cleaned up our plates, fixed our TV-I think he even prepared the food too. He wore many hats and did it all with a smile. He was very helpful, very hospitable and made our stay a pleasant and memorable one. The hotel is very no-frills-very basic but clean and comfortable for a short stay. If you want luxury-this is not for you. The breakfast was just ok-you can have pancakes, gallo pinto, fresh fruit-but again very basic but included with your stay. The dining area is a covered outdoor space and the monkeys are sometimes out and they are annoying. Their cuteness wears off quickly. The hotel literally backs up into the national park-there was a deer that came into the dining area and let you pet his head in return for food and ate out of your hand. Iguanas roaming around the property all over. SO it is a very natural environment. As for the negatives-The hotel seems to be in need of some upgrade/repairs. Our room door was a sliding door that led onto a patio with a hammock. Our room was right in front of the pool. The sliding door had a lock that got jammed and was very difficult to open. It was very musty in the room and there was some mold on the wall near bathroom-but to be fair we were basically in the rain forest-however it still made for a negative aspect in my opinion. We were out all day and were there to sleep-we didn't even use the pool -the pool is very small but was there if you wanted it. There is a general store next door but is very expensive. Hotel is also very walkable to many dining options and/or you can take the local bus to other dining options that are too far to walk to. Lots of shopping kiosks with the locals who will negotiate prices with you, especially on off season when we were there. October is rainy season. Also-check in with the hotel before booking any guided tours into the national park. They will also give you beach towels.

I went with my dad and we stayed in "la casa" and it was an incredible room! The breakfast in the mornings were delicious and the staff was very friendly. It wasn't as "in nature" as I expected but still beautiful. Great location-next to park and very close to the beach. Only compliant is that sometimes the WiFi would not work.

Room Tip: la casa has a nice kitchen, family room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms

We visited La Posada in August on our honeymoon and we were blown away by the location, facilities and the warm welcome from the competent and friendly staff. The location is as good as you can get in Manuel Antonio for access to the beach and National Park. The National Park gates are one minute up the road, and the beach is an easy 5 minute walk down the track opposite the hotel entrance. We had a room towards the rear of the property, facing the pool. The room itself was comfortable and tidy, with coffee and regular fresh bedding and towels provided. The pool, although small, is a lovely temperature and setting, and loungers and chairs are provided. The National Park bounds the hotel to one side, so iguanas, deer and manifest exotic birds are regular visitors to the property!

Breakfast is provided, and is cooked to order, fresh and plentiful. There's also a lovely little bar, which does cheap beer and affordable local lunch options. It's used by all the local National Park guides so you know it must be good!

We can't speak highly enough about the staff, who were brilliant throughout our visit. From the warm welcome, to advice and assistance in booking tours and excursions, and even setting up the TV in the bar to watch a late-night boxing event, all the staff were excellent at their jobs. They provided a complementary cocktail upon arrival, and helped us book all our transfers to and from the hotel.

We can't recommend La Posada enough! Although probably not the most budget option in the town, it really shone in terms of location, facilities and staff and was worth every penny. We'd recommend anyone visiting Manuel Antonio to take a look, and if we're lucky enough to visit Costa Rica again then we'll definitely call in. Pura Vida!

Room Tip: Choose a room back in the courtyard, near the pool. Quiet in the evenings, and lots of birds and wildlife too.
