“Costa Rican Flavor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2012

We were a party of six - hubby and myself, our two teenage daughters, and another adult couple. We all loved this hotel. We had a bungalow with two large bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen, and a very large balcony with four rocking chairs and a table with dining chairs. Our room was actually built around a large tree! The beds were comfortable and we slept well. Although we were very close to the main road, we ran the AC, which masked any noise. The kitchen was well stocked and we prepared our own breakfast one morning. Otherwise, we had breakfast at the Annaconda. We also had dinner there our first night. All three meals were very good. However, our favorite meal was at Raphael's, which is across the street. Divine! The staff at Costa Verde were all so polite and helpful. We only paid $200 per night, which we felt was an exceptional value. The best part of our stay, however, were all the monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and other wildlife! A mamma monkey appeared on our balcony with her baby on her back our last morning - a truly priceless memory!

after doing an intensive search on hotels in Manuel Antonio, this had to be the best one. first of all, it's a great value. my OCEAN and JUNGLE view room was under $200 per night. It was for my honeymoon so I will never forget this hotel and area. There was 3 restaurants affiliated to this hotel and they all have great ocean/jungle views. the staff were all professional and helped us with anything and everything. as soon as we got there, we saw a sloth chillin in one of the trees. iguanas are everywhere (don't worry, they don't bother you). just being on the balcony of the hotel took my breath away. waking up to the aerial view of the water was just an invaluable experience. the hotel is also close (walking distance) to the Manuel Antonio National Park and beach. it is also close to all the other hotels, you can walk right in to check them out and eat at their restaurants. and it's a 2 min cab ride to Qeupos, which is the downtown area. i miss this place so much!!

We loved that the site is spread out with only a few units per building. It maked us feel like we were the only ones around. Upon arrival we asked to upgrade to an ocean front room. The friendly staff said none were available. Imagine our surprise when we could see better than half the ocean thru the lush jungle from our room and the full ocean from our private deck.!!! Although, this is ot a 5 star property, this is the real Costa Rica!!!

Room Tip: Ask the front desk for resturant recommendations! We loved La Luna

This hotel ended our Costa Rican holiday on a high note. The staff was very friendly and helpful and answered all our questions easily. Wildlife surrounds the hotel so we saw lots of white-faced capuchins, squirrel monkeys, spider monkeys, and howler monkeys. Best of all, several sloths and their babies were in the trees surrounding one of the pools and were easy to watch (slowly, of course!). The hotel has 3 different areas due to the geography. We were in section B and although our room was on a lower level so that we could not see the ocean from our room, we still enjoyed the spectacular views from Anaconda restaurant, the pools, and elsewhere. The pools were wonderful and they even have an adults-only pool. The hike down to the beach wasn't too bad and the ocean was wonderful, even did some body-surfing. We opted to take the bus back up the hill, which was easy to do. The Anaconda restaurant was very good and we preferred it over the barbeque place across the street. The walk between your room and the restaurant or pools can be a bit daunting, but we took our time and enjoyed the wildlife along the way. We highly recommend this hotel.
