This a deceptive hotel just away from the beach.Superbly clean with very efficient air con.which is needed here. The owners are exceptional in their care and friendliness.Superb value in this area of high hotel prices. Not to be passed by.

Room Tip: All were good and near the pool.

My husband and I had a very pleasant 4-night stay at the Flor Blanca B&B. Daniel's freshly-made breakfasts were great. Our favorite was traditional rice/beans with scrambled eggs and juice or coffee, but other options were available.

Our room was very clean and quiet, but basic. Plenty of high stairways, so I wouldn't recommend this place if you have bad knees or limited mobility. Kitchen facilities also helped us save some money at suppertime. The grocery store is almost next door and the bus stop across the street is so convenient. Buses run about every 15-20 minutes and cost US$.50 to go to busy Quepos or down to the beach area where multiple restaurants and shops are found .

The B&B owners were VERY helpful and could arrange almost anything for us. Hint: You will pay full price for tours if booked via the hotel, but if you want discounted rates, head down to the multi-tour companies found down near the beach and hesitate a bit before buying. One "hesitation" brought the price of the mangrove kayak tour down to $55 from $70.

The B&B owners graciously allowed me to check email daily (free), but I kept my use to a minimum and avoided times when they were using the lone PC. They also suggested a beautiful, more secluded beach that is worth the hike down and back up. Their pool is convenient for those times when you'd rather not layout on the beach or swim in salt water. The pool water was very clear and clean. All in all, we had a very pleasant, peaceful stay here and I would come again.

Room Tip: Our spacious room had beds for 6 people even though we only needed 2. Our niece stayed in a very tig...

The famous Manuel Antonio Beach is within walking distance, and the swimming pool at the hotel was so refreshing, especially at night with the lights! The rooms were cooled by A/C and as clean as can be. They discovered that I could cook and they were so friendly they even allowed me back in the kitchen to help cook the italian food on the menu for the evening meal at the hotel restaurant. All that was missing was the candlelight and champagne! It was great! It's a family run hotel and it's a family of the highest caliber. I miss them and want to go back as soon as possible to see them again.

Room Tip: To get the best room, tell them that Scott sent yu

The first time I stayed here was with a group of 5 other college friends. We stumbled upon flor blanca in the midst of a torrential downpour (this was during September, aka ridiculous quantities of rain). We got a room with a fridge and t.v. for $10 a person. The hotel also has a pool, beach chairs, free towels to use, and if you ask nicely... an open kitchen!

I returned during November with my family in November and got a room, once again $10 pp. Comfortable beds, white walls, oscillating fans, and almost no other guests. The highlight however, was seeing a group of 20 plus squirrel monkeys in the forested area behind the hotel! Hotel Flor Blanca is fairly basic, however it is perfect for a group of friends or family as the owners are incredibly nice, the pulperia is a 5 minute walk away (red beards and other restaurants are 15 minute walks), and the hotel is also a laundromat.
It's just up the road (towards manuel) from Vista Serena and Backpackers Hostel but the sign is fairly small so keep your eyes peeled!

I have been going to the Flor Blanca for 4 years now and the owners are very nice, the location is excellent with bus service right outside and a small market a half block away. Nice pool too.
When I was there in may the place was empty and they still wanted $55 for a single room, they have yet to figure out that with tourism down 40% that they had to drop their rates accordingly. 4 years ago I paid $50 a night for 3 people. This time I stayed 1 night and then moved across the street to the backpackers hostel where my cost was $10. The backpackers hostel was empty too, room for 200 or so and there were maybe 10 people staying there. After 1 day there I got back on the bus and went to Puerto Viejo. All in all I will always like the Flor Blanca but I wont be back until they lower their rates.
