The was the best hotel i've stayed in. The rooms were clean and felt luxurious, a great shower, and added extras of coffee, milk and popcorn being stocked. For those needing to stay in because of mozzies there was a tv channel showing films in English. And there was free wifi. The restaurant next door made the best Pina Colada i've ever tasted (you don't have to eat), and they come round the pools from 3pm offering a cocktail happy hour.

The pools were lovely and the jacuzzi refreshing. None are heated but the sun warms them up throughout the day and facing the jungle you feel surrounded. Blissful.

Opening your room door everyone has their own balcony part, overlooking the jungle. The monkeys weren't around for us but you could be lucky, and will definitly see them if you visit the national park (an absolue must- we visited twice and still didn't have enough of the beaches and wildlife. snorkling good here as is monkey spotting or chasing the howlers call!).

There is a seating area near the breakfast room which is lovely to just listen to the call of animals. The breakfast offers 8 options. The traditional Costa Rican breakfast was the best and great to set you up for the day, and the fruit plate was HUGE!

It's very humid and we would hang out our swimming clothes which was a bit pointless! But the owner offered to tumble dry our clothes, all you need to do is ask. This was a great touch. Anythign we needed was on a 'all you need to dois ask' basis. And when you leave they offer a gift from the art gallery which made this hotel all the more special.

Walk 2 mins up the hill and there's the bus stop. It's a 10 minute journey to the main Manual Antonio area and the buses are often and cheap. Just pay as you board. The bus passes a zip line which is fun and then you can walk down the hill to the first part of the beach or walk on to the main street.

Finally, this lovely hotel is next to the ultra expensive GAIA hotel. However they allow you to go to their bar high up the hills. Do this for the sunset happy hour and you'll be in awe. Just look it up.

Oh, and there's a resident cat. What more could you want? Book it

- We stayed for 9 days as a couple. It was mainly for couples although there were a couple of families.

Room Tip: I believe all the rooms would be good. We stayed in the one by the outdoor seating area and it was lovely

This was a really cute hotel with nice clean rooms & a secluded modern pool. The breakfast included was delicious each morning as well. It is a block from the public bus stop that will take you to Manuel Antonio. The restaurant next door had pool service which was an added benefit. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Plaza Yara for five nights. We stayed in rooms 6 and 7 which were in a separate self-contained block from the main building. Both rooms were spacious and beautifully presented. The room was more of a studio and included a kitchenette with a fridge microwave and coffeemaker. Free coffee and popcorn .. a bonus! The hotel was on the main road and so there was some traffic noise but as we did not have a car the convenience of its position on the road meant we could hop easily onto a bus to Manuel Antonio Park or to Quepos or catch one of the many taxis that passed by regularly. The garden of the hotel was immaculate and both swimming pools were refreshing and very well maintained. A lovely respite after a day out in the heat.
Breakfast at the hotel was plentiful and fresh with lots of choices on the menu. One of our group did not eat eggs and they were able to adapt meals for her. All staff were very friendly and helpful, advising and booking trips and onward shuttles for us. We particularly enjoyed the guided tour to Manuel Antonio Park with Roger who also covered the reception in the evenings at the hotel. Very pleased we chose this hotel, for us it was the best value of all the accommodation we stayed in Costa Rica. Local restaurants that we particularly enjoyed La Luna (next door in Gaia hotel), Raphael’s Terrazas, and El Wagon.

Highly recommend this hotel, the lobby is an art gallery, pool area and patio are both very beautiful and relaxing. We were actually surprised with the room size, the rooms were huge and very classy! Definitely so much more than a 3 star hotel. Roger was very warm but professional, helpful and hospitable. Gave us the best recommendation for food delivery since it was already late and it was raining when we arrived. Book here!

BEST HOTEL AROUND! Very clean and professional place. The staff was excellent and super accommodating. From helping us schedule excursions and tours to finding us a transfer vehicle they were on top of it. They even helped us translate and talk to our ambulance driver (we had an unfortunate accident) and then called us at the hospital to check on us! Our room was spectacular and overlooked the two beautiful and well maintained pools. Lots of things to do around this area and beautiful scenery! Will definitely be back to this hotel again!
