“Excellent Hike”
Reviewed 4 September 2012

Terrific hike with a knowledgeable guide. Not only did we learn about the flora and fauna, but also the history of the area. It was a very hot day, and our guide brought waters and fruit for us. Thank you.

“Happy Trails to You”
Reviewed 12 August 2012

Take a hike and see a lot of nature on a well maintained trail through land that has been reverting to its natural state. The grandson of the owner will tell you about the trees and plants and how they were used for generations. See Howler Monkeys and colorful birds and see the great view of the beach from the top of the hill.

“Must see attraction for Samara”
Reviewed 12 August 2012

Alvero is a knowledgable guide, he shows you around his families land above the Samara beach. He gave me insights into the land, ecosystem, flora/fauna and costa rica that I didn't know after many visits. I would highly recommend anyone coming to Samara to make the trip with Alvero he is super easy to get along with. 5 Stars!!!

“Can't miss this!”
Reviewed 23 June 2012

Alvaro has a wealth of information on the dry tropical forest and the magnificent flora and fauna experienced on the trail during the very pleasurable hike. We saw amazing birds, rare trees and well, it was just a really beautiful walk. The vista at the highest point is breathtaking- one can see for miles down the coast. It's at this point we had a sit down and were offered fresh fruit, water and snacks. I've heard since that there is now another hike to a waterfall. look forward to this one too!

“worth the hike!”
Reviewed 7 June 2012

The guided hike through this reserve is a real treat! (Especially if you go during mango season!) Alvaro is very well educated about the local flora and fauna and speaks perfect English and Spanish. There are a couple of great photo-ops, views of Sámara bay from above that are just breathtaking. There are some hills, but nothing too challenging, although probably not appropriate for seniors unless accustomed to walking a lot. For me, this is one of the best activities in the area.
