Coming directly from the airport, we truly appreciated the warm welcome by Phillipe. We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The villas are well appointed and the staff is exceptionally kind, accommodating and efficient.

The restaurant has a beautiful view and the food is quite good. It is a drive into the downtown area of San Jose, but we thought the tranquility was worth it. For our departure, We booked a different hotel (PureVida) that was a little closer to the airport and also had good reviews—not nearly as nice in our opinion. We would gladly stay here again if flying into San Jose.

The location of the Xandari is very convenient for whom is arriving at the international airport of San José, just 20 minutes by car and you arrive in the middle of an enchanting nature. Have the rental car (Sixt delivers for free!) directly delivered to Xandari and you can start the road trip without worries! The hotel offers a wonderful garden with great views of the city. We stayed in a Ultra Plus Villa which was very spacious. The king size bed was comfortable and perfect after a long flight. The villa was private. The bathroom and the room were rather outdated and simple, but very ok for 2 nights. The restaurant‘s terrace has a nice view. The 2 waitresses were very kind, the included breakfast was simple, but fresh & bio. It isn‘t a 5 star resort, so don‘t expect too much luxury. There weren‘t many guests, so we had the sunsetpool for ourselves. Only 2 things we didn‘t like: room service served cold food and wrong dinner with rather low quality and on our departure we asked for 2 bottles of water and they just offered 0.5 liter for 6 $ each! a good hotel on this price level would offer its guests a bottle of free water at the departure. Must be part of good costumer care.

Very friendly and attentative staff, always at your service. Lovely garden and trails! Spacious bungalow... But a lot of space in vain, just concrete walls. So much potential to create a genuine personal space. How about some green in the concrete, a hammock, a private little pool? Since there is plenty of space and the charge is very high, why not benchmark the offer with other properties in the country! After all, this was our last and most expensive stop before leaving the country, but it was not our best stay. Finally, for the prices in the restaurant, both menu and cooking art has to be improved! Big mismatch between value and price here.

We stayed here as our first stop on a fairly extensive tour of Costa Rica
The villas are very spaced out buggy transport is available but if you don’t use this it is quite a distance from some of the villas to reception and the restaurant
The staff were friendly and helpful the food good but there isn’t a lot to do here if it rains which it can do very heavily
We would not have wanted to stay longer than 3 nights

Our family stayed here for two nights at the beginning and end of our vacation to Costa Rica. We had a wonderful stay, the perfect place to land after a long day of travel we were warmly welcomed on arrival. The villa was beautiful, wonderful views, very private. We ate at the restaurant twice, the food was excellent and the service was impeccable. We had to leave early for our flight and were provided with a breakfast to go in the morning which was a lovely touch. The staff were wonderful, we can't wait to return!
