A friend and I went there and was greeted by Robert. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained the story behind the pieces. The prices were very fare and the craftsmanship was beautiful. This is not somewhere you are going to find mass produced items. This is truely a gem that I found and I can’t wait to go back in about a week!!! It’s going to be really hard to find anywhere that will stand up to the standards of this unique stop. Thank you for your time, knowledge, and kindness Robert!

Thank Kim C

We stopped here because we wanted to get some authentic fair trade souvenirs to bring home with us.

Unfortunately when we got there we discovered that were going to be closed the whole week for holiday week. But much to our joy Melissa was coming in to do some work in the shop and she offered to open up for us and when we entered the shop she spent a long time explaining the different regions of Costa Rica and why each item represented that region.

Everything was beautifully made and it was very reasonably priced. If you are looking for something to take back with you, make sure you stop here it's got something for everyone.

This small shop features souvenirs made only in Costa Rica. The knowledgeable staff person explained in detail where, how, and why each of the souvenirs are made. The history and geography of each item relates directly to the culture of its original indigenous tribe. We appreciated his courteous manner and his definite pride of these crafts. Most important we found souvenir items that were meaningful.

Hello Soondon!

We love knowing how meaningful your visit and the souvenirs you purchased were for you.

In only 51 100 square kilometers, Costa Rica has 4% of the planet's biodiversity and in just over 50 square meters of exhibition in our Museum Store, we show the best selection of authentic crafts that represent the identity and culture of our country.

We are really pleased that you not only got to know and learned more about the history and traditions of Costa Rica, but that you also could bring meaningful souvenirs to enjoy at home.

We are sure that crafts will look beautiful on your Christmas tree this year!

Thank you very much for sharing your experience!

We hope to see you soon again!

Best regards,
Souvenir Museum Team.

We stopped by this place on the way to the airport. The concept of a souvineer museum is new to me. There are some unique souvineers here and there are also some that can be found at the airport. I purchased a wood carving here then I saw similar products at the airport that appeared to be of lower quality and lower artistic talent a similar price. Hence, I was glad I stopped by the souvineer museum first. My wife bought a coloring book for her nephew that was also for sale at the airport at a cheaper price, so she wishes she'd waited. I guess it's hit or miss. With this purchase, the shopkeeper said he would email us on the history of each piece we bought with additional information of the region the piece came from. 1 week later and I'm still waiting for that email.
