This used to be the cool place to go for people that want same quality as Jiajia (run by same family) minus the insane queues thanks to Soup Dumpling Index fallout. So tasty. So local. So cheap. Great Old Shanghai experience. I often take tourist friends here and they always love it. And don't skip the scallion oil noodles. They have an English menu now btw.

We went here looking for a decent meal at a place the locals might eat and Linlongfang didn't disappoint. The restaurant is in an area with little shops selling everything from kitchen gadgets, bicycle repairs and foot massages. It was about a 10 minute walk from the subway line 8 Lujiabang Road station. The menu is pretty simple and the atmosphere is lacking but the food on the limited menu is very good and the prices are great.

Watching the ladies make the food makes me truly appreciate the value received. 4 ladies would swarm on each order to make the little dough purses and get the food to the table.

When the concierge send us to Din Tai Fung the night before I was truly disappointed after asking for a "local dim sum place". Linlongfang was closer to what I was looking for and the great prices makes it a 5 star value.

Very simple place... very friendly staff... I strongly recommend their pork noodle soup... really one of its kind... slightly sweet and sour... very delicate yet powerful. The xiao long baos are another hit... I loved the pork ones... steamed in the basket with some weeds to keep the moisture may be... brilliant. Didn't savour the pork and crab meat XLB... but I think it's my taste for crab meat with pork more than anything. Three days baskets of XLB, two beers, one pork noodle soup for 92 rmb... what a value meal!!

Very nice place, although the servers weren't the most people, those dumplings make up for everything. Filled with delicious soup be careful, because it's really hot and spurts out everywhere, so better bite a small hole on the side of the dumpling as suck out the juices.

Really don't want to write a food review in the city I live, but this is definitely one the best xiao long bao places in Shanghai. Cheap, sometimes cheerful, not too crazy crowded, uncomfortable stools, freshly wrapped and steamed dumplings, this is definitely the place to go to avoid tourist trap Xiaolongbao dumplings.

If you find your way here, you're in for a delicious treat. Don't expect amazing service, although they are quite kind, it's not meant to be fine dining. It's great value and the flavor & juiciness are all there.

Enjoy!
