Fantastic Hotel - Served a great purpose, highly recommended and I would stay again

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 Oct 2015
Solo traveller, stayed in Shanghai 3 days. Moved here from a hotel nearby which was unfit for purpose. Was really happy with my decision to stay here. The hotel looks just like the pictures (visitor and official).

Hotel is in a great location, minutes walk from exit 6 of East Nanjing Road Station. Easily accessible from Ningbo road.

I checked in early and the staff were helpful and informative. My room was on the 6th floor and I couldn't fault it. Bed was massive and very comfortable. Room was clean and equipped with a safe. Very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing room. Made my stay very pleasureable.

Only gripe is that house keeping could have used a vacuum cleaner. Aside from that, no complaints. Would recommend for a trouble free stay in a great location and would also stay again myself.

we came to Shanghai for eleven days to really explore this city.
We were on a budget and stayed well within our means and had a super time
the Fish Inn is great!
small but well appointed room with all one needs.
Best sleep ever
Although the market in the street starts early, the double glazed windows keep the noise out
the staff hyper friendly assisting us by writing the names of places we wanted to visit
out in Chinese, a must if you don't speak chinese as Google maps don't work and Baidu is all in Chinese
we managed well and really got to see everything we could in the ten days we were there
the hotel is very central to shops, restaurants, the Metro and an easy walk to the Bund
the city sights bus stoppes around the corner
It could not have ben better and easier

It's a cheap Shanghai hotel. Rooms are clean, linen clean, shower hot and wifi works. Tucked down an alley but in a good location attraction wise. 400 metres to the bind and walking street. It's in a back street Ne the alley is used by locals to sell fresh fish and veggie during the day and it smells like fish a bit ... Didn't worry us... Just added to the experience. It's a room and clean and safe... Good for a couple of nights. Limited breakfast but lots of nearby shops and local eating. Tourist maps are charged for and limited English.

Room tip: It's just a room and bed and sufficient and clean

It's a real good location just 1 or 3 min walk to the EXIT 6 TO NANJING EAST ROAD line 2 MRT. Al thought it's new from 2014,but for me i think it's a little run down, the room had some mold be hide the curtain. But their front desk service is pretty good and helpful, and out side of the hotel is a early market,if u don't mind, I found it's interesting.
I would recommend if u look for budget and good location, and not willing spend too much on accommodation, since shanghai is a real BZ city u could discover around.

The location makes it very worthwhile but the staff were low pleasant and the room was very comfortable for one person. Easy to find though, as always, it is slightly further from the Metro stop than the official hotel information suggests. Carpet was very dirty but they provide fresh, disposable slippers evey day so not a big issue. The WiFi was OK but had the usual China restrictions. Don't be put off by the fish alley. They had also just started taking credit card for payment.

Recommended by a friend, the Fish Inn was a great choice in a quiet lane just 5 minutes from The Bund. We arrived early hours of the morning and were pleased of the 24 hour reception. Our room was fresh and very clean, quiet and had a very comfortable and soft bed. Being so close to The Bund we could walk out and come back to cool off. A market outside the hotel added interest. The pedestrian street was close by as well as the metro. Staff were helpful and the lobby area a pleasant place to relax. Great value.
