Stay in this hotel for a weekend with a special luxury rate - with breakfast, internet access, and check-out till 4pm subject to availability.

The hotel is located in a nice location - it is close to a metro station (Century Avenue) that is an inter-change station of 4 lines. And it is approximately in the middle between the two airports in Shanghai - i.e., Putong, and Hongqiao.

Both the check-in and the check-out are efficient and I like the fact that the gym opens 24/7. Though the gym is not as well-equipped as Stay-Fit in Hyatt, it satisfies most people's requirements.

There is a five-to-one restaurant in the lobby level in which one have a large variety of menu to choose from. Have had a breakfast, lunch, and dinner there and all in all, the food is very good. The customer services of waiters and waitress, however, would be significantly improved. When compared with the other brands in Shanghai, they are less efficient and it seems to me that they care more about foreign visitors than the others. For example, one manager would ask two foreigners how's the food and the services but he would neglect all the other [Asian/Chinese] customers. Further, if you do not buy for a buffet lunch/dinner, it's quite challenging to ask for waiters/waitress for services (even for ordering).

Nevertheless, most of the services and amenities provided by the hotel are good.

I have stayed in the InterContinental Shanghai Pudong in April 2012. I was travelling in business and stayed for a single night.

The hotel is not new but was extensively renovated recently. My room was airy and modern with a comfy spacious bed and a working table. The toilet had a bath tub and a separate shower cabin, with bright white marble floor and walls (check photo).

Internet in the room is cabled and paid – always a negative.

Buffet breakfast was huge with a vast selection of quality choices to fit all tastes.

Professional service.

Rate wasn’t cheap – never is nowadays in Shanghai -, but compared favorably with other hotels in Pudong.

If you want/need to stay in the Pudong side of Shanghai, IC is now a very good choice.

Great business hotel. A bit pricey. Breakfast and lunch at the ground floor restaurant had a good choice to suit all tastes. The hotel is located just minutes walk from shopping such as Yaohan and good restaurants.

Stayed one night while on business. I normally stay at the Westin but decided to try another hotel this time. I was not disapointed. Room was great and breakfast very good. Service excellent.

I do like this hotel! I've stayed here 4 times over the last 5 years and each time its been brilliant. Staff are wonderful and plentiful! Nothing is a problem, food excellent, drinks what you expect to pay in Shanghai, suite excellent, bathroom excellent, housekeeping excellent - I think you know I'll be back!

Oh and if your kids ask for mac cheese off the western kids menu, make sure you tell the staff not to put onion or pepper in it!

Room Tip: Internet free if you sit in the lobby.
