“The best stay we have had in Fiji.. And we have been 4 times”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 January 2012

Nothing short of the best resort in Fiji... The food was gourmet (especially Tree tops) the service was second to none, the rooms were so clean and perfect in every way and the nannies were awesome.. All staff were friendly, happy and relaxed, and every night at about 11pm you can hear them all laughing as they through each other in the pool!! After spending 5 days in plantation I regret the time I wasted there aftet visiting Malolo. Freddy, Appi & Emily, Miri, Kelli, Ellie & the guitar boys.. We will miss u!!

Great place, five star accommodation, service and locations! I would recommend Malolo to anyone, families, honeymooners or just couples, we went game and reefing fishing on several occasions, and when we did not catch anything, they did not charge us!! Very friendly staff, great kids club and nannies, I cannot give this place enough praise, we went to two other five star resorts in Fiji during this same trip, and Malolo made them look like three stars!

Room Tip: All the rooms are sea front, there are a few rooms very close to the bar and activities desk though...

this was the final part of our honeymoon, and it wasnt until we where on our way over to the island that hubby told me we were visiting in monsoon season, have to say though the weather cleared up after we arrived here. the resort is lovely and we did have a fantastic relaxing holiday. the staff are all very friendly and helpful, we went out on sunset cruise ended up just the two of us and we where seranded, it was very romantic and lovely. we would go back here, but the only downside for us was that i felt it was a resort which was more suited for families, dont get me wrong it is a romantic location, but i guess when you are on honeymoon, for us anyway, we didnt want any children near us atol.

This was our second time staying at Malolo (we loved it so much the first time we wanted to come back again) and the first time with our daughter, who is 1. The Island itself is beautiful and exactly what you want and picture when you think of relaxing on the south pacific! Warm, breezy days and amazing sunsets, good beaches (although it's not a bad idea to bring a pair of water shoes or crocks as the beaches are a little rocky just off shore, but that is my experience everywhere in Fiji) and flowering trees! The Bure is spacious and comfortable as you can store your backs in compartments under the lounges and two roomy closets really help you keep the space open. The lounges are super comfortable and perfect for...well...lounging! The Bed is one of the most comfortable i've ever slept on! The cleaning service is great and they even tidy up once more in the evening while your at dinner...a nice touch. The food is great and the buffet nights were really good. The kids club is spectacular and although my daughter needed one of us to be with her (the cut off age is 4 for dropping your kids off with the staff) she still had a great time and the group of kids looked like they were having the time of their lives learning Fijian dances and putting on a christmas show. The staff is warm and friendly. Two of my favorite things at Malolo are the Hammocks (which are REAL rope hammocks, not the cheap cloth ones, and they are amazingly comfortable) and the snorkelling. About 15 meters out from the beach you can see the reef wall and hundreds of beautiful, multi-colored fish. Besides snorkelling, they have paddle-boarding, mini-catamaran's, and kayaking free of charge. They also have all the standard fishing, motorized water sports, and trips that you find at every resort for the standard price. The pools were great and the beach bar is excellent. We stayed at Amanuca resort before going to Malolo and there is no comparison...for the money Malolo is the best resort we've been to in Fiji. Well worth your time and money to relax in proper Fijian style! We'll be going back for sure.

Room Tip: All rooms have an ocean view but some are turned sideways to the ocean, so ask for a bure 'facin...

We (a couple) sent 5 nights here. Our Bure was pretty much perfect with ample seating and storage and a very comfy bed. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day (there is even a turn down service). The airconditioning worked a treat and it was great to come back to relax in the room and escape the heat and the sun outside. Only slight gripe was that our room (38) though was described as ocean view was only partially this and was sandwiched in the corner between others. This did not matter really as it was only footsteps to the sea.
We went with the meal plan (for breakfast and dinner) this is very well worked out and only gives you a small saving if you have a full breakfast and the 3 courses at dinner (if you don’t want to eat all this its not worth the cost). Breakfast was fantastic with everything available you would expect (cooked and continental) they even bring you your own pot of tea or coffee. We ate in the adults only Tree Tops restaurant most nights for dinner. This was a lovely experience with some amazing food to choose from. Rather spoilt a few times by the noise from the kids club and the crab racing below but did not detract from the food only the ambiance.
Most of the other clientele are Australian families with small children. This was not a problem for us as a couple. Breakfast could be a bit noisy but nothing to complain about.
The beach was wonderful. We came to snorkel and we were certainly able to do this right from the beach. We have travelled to the Maldives and Egypt and the snorkelling here with the variety of fish was every bit as impressive if not better. The sun is very strong so make sure you put on lots of sunscreen. Only negative about the beach was the lack of beach beds. Down the end we were at there were only 2 sets between about 15 rooms. For a fantastic place like this I would have expected there to be lots more so people did not have to lie on the sand.
Also beware of the mossies they are out in full force here. The resort does its best providing repellent in the rooms and fogging twice a day but be aware.
Overall a great place to relax and unwind and enjoy beautiful scenery above and below the water. Was great for us as a couple and it certainly looked brilliant for families – the kids club always seemed to be very active. Would recommend to anyone.
