“Lots of gulf coast seafood”

Wolf Bay Restaurant & Bar
Ranked #49 of 152 Restaurants in Orange Beach
Description: Wolf Bay is a family-owned Baldwin County tradition known for its high quality fresh seafood & local ambiance. Its rich history began as a bait shop nestled in the trees along the beautiful waters of Wolf Bay in Elberta, Alabama in the 1940’s. Charlie & Sandra Wrape purchased it in 1973. Through their hard work & determination, they began serving a full menu of delicious seafood recipes – many of which were created by ladies that worked there or lived nearby. Although the restaurant was “off the beaten path,” it soon became a favorite among the locals & area visitors alike. On December 7th, 2008 the original lodge was completely destroyed by fire. It has since been rebuilt in two locations – Orange Beach & Foley, Alabama – where it continues to be family owned & operated by Charlie & Sandra’s daughter, Charlene Haber. Wolf Bay is known for being a local seafood tradition, and prides itself in serving high quality, fresh meals in a family-friendly atmosphere.

The menu is filled with many gulf coast seafood choices. What we ordered was good quality. Most seafood can be fried, grilled or blackened. Unfortunately the initial service we experienced was not acceptable. Like many area restaurants they do not take reservations so there is likely going to be a long wait. You can try to find a seat at the inside bar which does have tv to watch. Or you can journey to sit outside to wait. They also have a small adjacent shop to take up time. Our disappointment is that once seated, it took almost 15 minutes for anyone to come serve us and that was after I spoke to the hostess. I will comment that once service started, the person was quite friendly. This restaurant appears to handle large groups and families as the seating and decor is set up for such. Along with the menu and the salad bar that easily supports multiple people serving themselves. For some people this restaurant will appeal to them with higher ratings from such.

If you like everything fried this is your place. Fried fish, fried shrimp, fried.... you get the idea. What got me was to go for lunch, for me to get a sandwich (that came with fries!!) and a salad bar was $25!! I asked the waitress if that was a misprint and she said it wasn’t. Sorry, the salad bar is average at best but I will give them this, they do have fresh spinach.
They even advertise, “if ain’t fried, it ain’t food.” That should tell you the quality your getting.

Wolf Bay Lodge at Zeke's Marina. Wait staff very attentive. We had Crab Claws for lunch and they were very good. The view out over the back bay was outstanding. A very large restaurant area. Menu covered the basics for sea food. Recommended. Prices middle of the road

We have a ten at two of these, and both were perfect for satisfying our seafood cravings. We had grilled flounder, shrimp and oysters. All were well prepared and served with nice portions and generous sides. We will visit again
